bought a 3rd party battery from digitalrev. It lasted for around 100 pictures and about 10 minutes full hd video recording. I kept it on (not standby) all teh time because once it's in standby mode, it takes few seconds to on and i will miss that moment of picture. Used it from afternoon till night, left around 20%. you be the judge whether it is good or bad.

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 15 2010, 01:11 AM) ZOMG DxO Optics Pro finally supports the NEX-3 and NEX-5! You have no idea how long I've been waiting, since I paid for DxO Optics Pro Elite. Lightroom's a bit too clinical and takes away the wonderful Sony JPEG colors. which version of DxO? i still cant get used to LR :S

QUOTE(smwah @ Dec 18 2010, 02:10 PM) Finally bought me nex-3A with good bargain. Got it from Klang parade sony alpha shop. Package is, nex-3A will entitled rm700 rebate from RRP. Meaning, 1,999-700 = 1,399. But w/o memory card. Good thing is it comes with additional 2 years warranty (1+2) and free alpha bag + screen protector. the sales guys recommend to take another lens (zoom) with additional rm800. But never take it due to budget. Took additional Sony battery, rm249 (rrp) Total still cost me less than 1,600. For those interested to get the offer, please refer to Note: if only applicable to Nex-3A only. (33 unit perday). Started from 17-19 Dec. Miss it on Friday, where all the nex and alpha product is discount 50% but for first 10 customer. But I still wonder the 33 unit is just some attraction or real. WOW... that's darn cheap!!! i think sonystyle online still have PWP offer... u may want to buy from there instead...

I am starting to believe a few of the horror stories about bad Sony after sales service. from what i know, singapore sony center will send dslr to JB sony center to service...

QUOTE(ryosuke @ Apr 16 2011, 07:36 PM) I got a chance to try out the 18200 at klcc sony center, i find that the 18200 focus is a bit slow (when zoom until max). Is this normal ? sorry, i have no knowledge on camera stuff yeap, the focusing is quite slow... i used to have it for one week the bulkiness kills the purpose of having small camera~

QUOTE(Underhill @ Apr 18 2011, 03:18 PM) Dang it. I got myself poisoned with NEX-5. Cannot tahan already, I'm supposed to wait for whatever next NEX next NEX probably is NEX-3C which is an upgrade of NEX-3. unless you waiting for NEX-7 (?) which is of higher range than NEX-5. To me, NEX-5 is good enough, except that you need to get one extra battery if you planning to shoot whole day.

QUOTE(Underhill @ Apr 18 2011, 05:55 PM) NEX-5C? Is there such thing? Yes NEX-5 is good enough. The SonyStyle fella said there will be a new lens. Perhaps I'd get a better lens kit. NEX-5, is cheaper as compared to say on newly launch? Or the price just remain stagnant? not really sure bout market price, but IIRC, it has been remaining the same for quite sometime. New lenses are on the way. but due to recent Japan double disasters, a lot of Sony products are delayed including the lenses. Even A390 is coming to an earlier than expected end of life (according to sonyalpharumors). I'm also waiting for either the prime lens or macro lens, hope the price wont be sky rocket...

QUOTE(ryosuke @ Apr 18 2011, 08:47 PM) Thanks for the comment ! I still considering which lens to take as i only have 16mm with me currently, need a zoom lens for some shots my friend suggests take the 1855 and wait for sony g lens out probably in 2012, but the 18200 seems very tempting, can zoom very far i wont really recommend 18200. If you travel often you wont wanna carry it around. for me 1855 is more than enough for travelling around and taking portrait shots. and it feels very awkward to use the super zoom/huge lens with such a small camera. just my personal preference ba

hey guys, if Sony releases a dedicated external flash and a prime lens, which one will you choose? Sony has actually showed a prototype for the flash which is sort of identical to F20. For the prime lens, still no news wat kind of length it will come out with. But Sony is introducing new NEX lenses end of this May. So which one would you buy? Flash or prime lens? NEX Flash

QUOTE(geniuz @ Apr 24 2011, 10:32 AM) If that so, i'm glad to hear that. But first things I should know is the term of ISO, shutter speed and so on and get use to it first IMO. Hope sifu out there can guide me. Thanks Added on April 24, 2011, 10:33 amOk now how to check my current version software? Try to find it but failed under menu--> setup --> version you can read up the manual for more understanding on ISO, shutter speed and aperture etc.
