*
for me, coordinate is very useful as nowadays many interesting place such as food/landmark comes with coordinate..
and the accuracy is superb..

oh well.. at least it's working better compare to google map..

i found another alternative for GPS navigation app, its name is "Aura".
quite not bad just tat when it runs in g5, due to lower resolution screen, some road names are minimized.
but afterall everything is quite nice for tis gps navigator. i like the 3d view of tis gps navigator.

besides, i changed from papago x5 and use papago m7 as my default gps navigator.
papago m7 has POI logo, looks very nice if compare to x5 and is working fine.
maps version is 4 november 2010.
but sadly, it is only available in chinese becz it is supposed to be support taiwan map only.
some gps kaki in malaysia modified the x5 maps to fully support in this m7.

regarding coordinate search, so far i only found tat only "NDrive" supports coordinate search.
the disadvantage of NDrive is tat its map updates slow bcz only have official maps.

and last, i rooted my g5 and did some changes to the gps config file.
i got to know frm one of my fren.
i dunno if it reali help or not, but so far i tried 2 times, my satellite locking become faster.
and i tried indoor as well, can lock satellite in abt 3 minutes.
wait let me try few more times, then i will tell u guys if it improves the gps or not.
*
will try ndrive later to check out the coordinate search function..
btw, where can i download the updated ndrive map?

Ok downloading the apps just now, will give it a go
If you use odin and follow the instruction, is hard to brick your phone. I do not recomend you to go to any samsung shop, cause you might experiance the horible thing i go trought. Better go to samsung service center
YEP I SOKONG YOU
Yep the best one is to just use local firmware, I'm using russin firmware now, so i do experiance problems. Cant off 3G. Sigh
Hoho, out off all other browser apps, I still like the original one. It's faster, i think.

nop, no idea, searching for it is like searching for the hang tuah lost keris, the taming sari. But the best place to find a firmware is at the XDA forum  for galaxy 5. Safe to be there, cause you read other ppl coment about a particular firmware.
*
so.. u also plan to reflash back to ori firmware instead of russian now?

Do remember, G5's GPS unable lock satellite in indoor, pls test it outdoor

1.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use Wireless Networks(always keep tick)
2.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use GPS Satellite (always keep tick)
3.Go to Android market download and install the apps "GPS Booster"
4.Restart phone
5.Go to outdoor (without tall building surrounding within 100m)
6.Open Papago

1st 1-3 times might need longer locking time, later will get better and better

Optional : You can download "GPS Test" at Android market to view the satellite connection status

If i always tick the USE WIRELESS NETWORKS and USE GPS SATELLITE, it will get charge or not?
coz i think some app will keep auto connect to internet even after i close the wifi.
coz when i want to tick use wireless networks, it pop out google collection data and mention  collection will occur even when no application are running.
I worry it will auto connect to the internet.
Is this will happen or not?

thanks for the answer biggrin.gif

wont get charge if just turn on USE WIRELESS NETWORKS and USE GPS SATELLITE

my area also don't have coverage, but I don't need it at home as I have wifi. Need it when I am outside and most of the areas seems to be covered...
*
I know.. but better be safe by terminating it since we did put our ic number n detail during the registration..

Using universal androot, rooting is just one-click affair smile.gif I was hesitating to root or flash my I5503 that I bought last month as it was rock solid and trouble-free. That was until I tried to install LauncherPro from the market that brought my phone to its knees. The phone kept self rebooting at the Android logo. Never thought an application could cause such a havoc. Unfortunately there is no keys combination at power up exist to reset to factory mode on this phone. So I ultimately resorted to unofficial flashing using Odin 4.28. There was no new firmware for I5503 at that time on samfirmware.com, and the I5503 firmware that available was arabic language, so I went ahead with the latest I5500 european firmware. I got it back to life again, and it is a good firmware, so I'm happy. But I lost everything, apps and data when I flashed it to a new firmware. I heard about Titanium Backup before the incident but could not run it as it is a root only app and as I said, was reluctant to root the phone for no reason. In retrospect, I should. So moral of the story is, rooting your phone is relatively a safe and easy process, and bring many benefits. Backup all the phone's apps and data for one, and for me the possibility to tether as well (using Barnacle wifi tether).

So the only feature I miss from the original I5503 firmware was support of Indonesian language in swype. I asked my fellow countrymen in a forum and got no respond yet, so I'd try my luck here as I know you guys have the same firmware. Thanks.
*
since there is no local firmware available in samfirmware, does that means it's impossible for us to reflash back to local firmware?

no... I mean the email address you send to request for cancellation...
is it this email that you send for cancellation?? -- yescare@yes.my

otherwise, if still have no reply, fyi, your account will be auto deactivated after 3 months, if you didn't activate
*
yup, i send to yescare@yes.my
since i didn't activate it, does that means it will auto terminate for me after 3 months?
will i be charge anything?
