Maybe I can share mine. My father passed away in early January this year and followed soon after by my mother in late March. Both my parents don't live with me since I have moved out after marrying my wife and having two kids. My youngest is 6.

Well, I don't think my father came to visit after his death, if you know what I mean. But I believe my mother did.

Living in a small condo, I was all alone late at night in the dark at the living room playing with my phone. My wife and kids were fast asleep in their bedrooms. The only light was from the kitchen. So you could say it was pretty dark. Then I heard the bedroom door opened. Naturally I just thought it's my wife coming out so I looked intently at the dark corridor expecting to see her ambling out. But nobody came. I thought it couldn't be because the sound was loud enough that I was so sure a door had opened. So I got up from my sofa to investigate the corridor.

Turned on the light and opened her bedroom. She was sleeping soundly. I just closed the door and thought nothing of it and went back to my sofa and phone. It didn't occur to me to check my son's bedroom because once he sleeps, I know even fireworks can't wake him up.

Then after some time, I went to bed and checked on my son first. When I opened his door, the strong smell of camphor oil (minyak cap kapak) engulfed me. I thought it was weird because my son didn't apply it before he slept. Then it hit me! My mother must have come to see her darling grandson one last time. That was the bedroom door sound I heard but I was pretty sure no door actually opened. Just the ghost of my mother opening doors her way.

So that's all folks.

Hit me as in the truth dawned upon me, or the truth came to me all the sudden. Nothing supernatural actually. Sorry if it caused confusion to you guys.

Maybe I still have something else to add on in relation to the deaths of my parents. Y'see, my father's own house (where I grew up before moving out) was left vacant for many years. Even before he passed away, there was already nobody living there. But I do go back every now and then to check on that house and light josssticks.

And each time I go there was calm and peace about. I never felt there was any entity or ghost in that big empty bungalow. No strange events.

Then just in late May, if I recall correctly, when I was at the house as usual to check on it, I noticed the upstairs master bedroom lights was on and so was the ensuite toilet lights. My father slept in that master bedroom and used that toilet when he was alive. In addition to that master bedroom, another smaller bedroom lights also was turned on.

Now, I can tell you that in so many times (and years) I have gone to that house ever since it became vacant, the lights never once came on by themselves. Not even strong wind lashing outside could accidentally click on the light switches. Never ever had it happened.

And yet it did and that was after my parents passed away. I'm not sure whether it was my father or mother who came back to check on the house.

And true enough, ever since that day when the lights came on, it has not happened again.

Oh yes, my family will be looking to selling it once transfer of ownership is completed.

My late father has been appearing in my dreams at least 5 times now. The latest was just a couple of nights ago and he pointed (or was holding, that part was a bit blurry in my memory) to a snake.

Can anyone interpret this for me?

A few nights ago while in bed with a high fever, I dreamt of an ancestor. She was dressed like how you would expect the Chinese people to dress in the olden days. I had a feeling she was my ancestor because she called my name before appearing to me.

Does anyone know how to interpret this type of dream -- when a person dreams of their ancestors? Or was I just delirious from fever?

Wow, sifu, you’re right about 3 points that you brought up. The fourth point though didn’t happen. She didn’t say anything to me. In fact, after she called out my name (in a rather stern commanding manner, not sweet calling), I saw her and got a shock to see her. I’m still in dream mode this entire time.

Then I remember I rushed at her in fear and started to hit her once. I could recall making contact with her clothes once, so she wasn’t a floating ghost in my dream. Then, poof! I woke up and the dream ended.

Thanks for your thoughts on this matter. That dream did not occur again after that one time. So, I’m not sure what message I was supposed to get, but looks like I’ll never know now.
