There are a lot of blackberry phone users in Malaysia, you can blackberry phones almost everywhere. But for playbook, most people don't really know the existence of this awesome tablet, when I show them they ask me "wow what android is this running, so smooth one?"

RIM should advertise their tablet more.

That's why, BlackBerry must let BB users know how fantastic this PB is! These users are already using BB, but when it comes to tablets, not many know about PB! These are their ready made target!

Bridge is a fantastic feature that BB users can exploit to reduce expenses or dependance on wifi or an extra SIM card/account. BlackBerry Malaysia needs to do more on the A&P side....

Just sent my PB to Maxis agent for warranty claim/repair. Problem: when the back cover is pressed near the bottom, the screen image disappears but backlight still on, need to press power button twice to get back the screen image.
The chap filing my report got to ask his colleague "This is Blackberry What?"

RIM's published battery life is 7 hours average.

Yup, while having Skype for video calls might be nice, it's not that important to me. I've rarely used video calls, only tried out a few time with my Sony Ericsson handset. So, no prob if there's no Skype.....

iPad will still be the king even if MS Surface released before ipad1, why? Because of the epic app ecosystem of iOS. I have used an iPad before, my roommate has it. It is not just an iPod touch with 9inch screen.

The iPad-only iOS apps are really awesome and many companies even those magazine released apps in iPad only (not even any android or iphone/ipod touch). For example, ELLE, Ceci etc.

IMO Playbook is really great in native stuff like the browser, bbm, video player, multitasking but it is currently lacking certain essential apps (though I don't really need them like skype).

MS's tablet is a freaking 10 inch beast, I have tried ipad and galaxy tab 10.1, they are just too huge. MS Surface with windows 8/RT, it gets real multitasking yes, but one will get really bored of it after awhile.

Imagine, I have a desktop and a 15" laptop with windows 8 later. When I finish my work, pick up my tablet and play -- Hulla, exactly the same thing I have on my desktop. Why would I have the same thing all over again? Though this is very subjective, I think RIM and Playbook still has a position in the developers' minds (Just see how many developers are interested in BB10 Jam Event).

I foresee a bright future of BB10 and a myriad of awesome and big apps coming to the BB10. As long as RIM doesn't do anything stupid before that or bankrupt.

P/S: In fact, I quite like the fact that Playbook is not too mainstream because I love it when I am the only one having Playbook among my friends circle. It's so unique. Friends keep complaining their android tabs lagging while playing 1080... iPad even worse, tedious conversion and file system. As long as we keep the developers interested we can get awesome apps

Actually the problem currently lies with the advertisement and buyers' attention. Now whenever a buyer wants to buy a new phone, like my friends, their mindset always set at "iPhone or Galaxy". It is like blackberry never existed in their consideration and most of the consumers out there don't even know the existence of playbook and upcoming bb10.

Because they keep on blindly following the mainstream that's why. We can't do anything about this, just hope RIM will regain their stance and make blackberry back to the top position by releasing a flagship bb10 with developers of the big names joining; with strong and effective advertisement/campaigns as well.

Hi all. Just got myself a Playbook 32GB Wifi. I also got a Targus stylus for note taking. I applied a matte SP on it to protect.

Question. Use of the stylus on PB seems not smooth at all. I have to press the stylus down then only i am able to write anything. Tested it on ipad & S2 and it write smoothly. Hence its not the stylus.

Is it that PB screen not designed for the stylus or is it the SP. Problem is i bought the stylus after applying the SP. Want to test if without the SP sure means $$ fly away. Hence seeking your assitance please. Thanks.

No SP on ipad. My S2 has SP and it works smoothly. Also tested on an ASUS Tranformer Prime with SP also and it works just as well.

I am using 9780 but OS6 is getting painfully slow... or you can wait till next year BB10 haha
