1)Open X-Terminal
2)Type “root”
3)Type “dpkg –i nitdroid-installer_0.2.7_armel.deb”
4)After this process complete,type “apt-get install nitdroid-installer”
5)This will initiate the download procedure.The installation size is about 80MB.You can check the download speed at conky in case you think the installer stuck.
6)Once the download complete let the installer run 1st.
7)Type” nitdroid”
8)This will initiate the OS installer
9)Step after this is for those who have titans kernel v39/v40
10)One the installer complete,type “apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg”
11)Type “dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/multiboot-kernel-power_0.3_armel.deb”
12)I think that’s about it.Restart with your N900 keyboard open.You should have 3 booting option now.
i)Maemo 5 omap(default kernel)
ii)Maemo 5 linux v40(choose this if you want to run with titans kernel)
iii)Nitroid

You can change the booting sequence from item file list but I’ll keep it for another day.

Restart the phone.Cry if NITDroid didn’t load & come back & post here what’s your problem or if NITDroid do work perfectly ask you girlfriend to stay at home today as you want to play with your rebranded phone.

Overclocking in NITDroid
NITDroid v0.0.8 will automatically overlock N900 to 700MHz.
But for those who want more “kick” the following are the method to overclock the NITDroid.This is done using titans kernel & you have to boot to Maemo.

As usual start the godly X-Terminal
1)Type “sudo gainroot”
2)Type  “mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 / and”
3)Type “leafpad /and/system/etc/power.conf” – This is assuming you do have leafpad installed
4)This is the tricky part

By default the max/min should be like this :

scaling_max_freq 700000
scaling_min_freq 500000
avoid_frequencies 850000 805000 700000 550000 125000

FYI - These are all the available frequencies that you can specify:
1150000 1100000 1000000 950000 900000 850000 805000 750000 700000 600000 550000 500000 250000 125000

This is my setting.You guys can learn this as example
I’m using 500-850MHz setting

scaling_max_freq 850000
scaling_min_freq 500000
avoid_frequencies 950000 900000 805000 750000 600000 500000 125000

5)Once you’re done unmount the sd card with “umount /dev/mmcblk1p2”
