You shall ask HR abt the benefits as different Job Groups/departments have different allowances..... the standard benefits are medical, dental, optical, car allowance (regardless you own a car or not), hp allowance, broadband allowance,  8 days mandotary courses (external and internal), standby/on-call allowance, flexi working hours, can work from home...if u are in higher Job group then your benefits will be similar to Shell Malaysia Trading which even better (access to use shell's holiday banglows in MY, Housing loan, etc)
Instead of worry abt the benefits, you shall consider if you able always keep your competency levels on par with shell requirements....in other companies, as long u don't resign then you still have your work...but in Shell things change very fast and if u not competent enough then bye bye lor...
*
>>> can you advise what you mean by : but in Shell things change very fast and if u not competent enough then bye bye lor...
any examples ?

How is the standard benefit of Shell Business Service ? Have allowance?
*
actually, sbsc is not the same with shell anymore. the benefit is greatly reduced....recently many ppl resign from their finance dept. one of them is my friend. she says she cant take it anymore. soon, there will be a massive recruitment for finance, according to her. But, im not sure as Im not there. She also says something about transferring their work to other countries(i dont ask in detail, just listen as she is very sad that time)....to be frank quite dangerous.

some correction

QUOTE(HaoYuan @ Oct 27 2011, 10:10 PM)
how you know that they are cutting cost? u work there before? any idea what is happening with shell business centre recently?
*
if you read other threads as well as some of the postings, you would be able to deduct :

1) shell is restructuring a lot of times, this is due to trying to globalize all different business and to become a competitive oil and gas player
2) shell is realigning the structure to group things to an entity that can be outsourced later
3) shell is now as good as other companies, which means the benefits and salary MIGHT have been downgraded, to allign with other MNCs are providing
4) many left is a usual reflection of such moves due to better offer, inconvenience location, cut off benefits due to creation of a service entity(that makes
it's employees feel something major is being taken away from them, usually family man) as well as mushrooming of new business service centres of
other companies that chooses Malaysia as a low cost area to leverage the cost, which is also
competing with Philipines and India.
5) a shift of opportunities move from the west to asia pacific, therefore many trying to fight for positions in Asia Pacific with the locals.

again, above are my opinion only. icon_rolleyes.gif however if you decided to join, do look at the experience people's face, NOT fresh graduate face. For those fresh graduate whether come in under the graduate scheme or into service desk jobs....they are just "termakan" with the jenama SHELL, so as cheerful as you can get...for those experience ones, you might suspect it is the season for period or mid-life crisis, but it's NOT. And when you ask, their mouth will be more than wonderful to sing the sorrow song for you to hear....

there's only a few employee that face will always be glad :

1) fresh grad
2) employee that manage to escape from the SITI outsourcing
3) employee that manage to get promotion from service centres terms to shell malaysia terms laugh.gif

but at the end of the day, be happy to have a job lahhhhh....

Thanks for your information, from what i hear from my interviewer today is that, if u being allocate to handle hong kong account, u will be follow their public holiday, if Singapore then follow Singapore.

but what i hope is follow Malaysia as Malaysia is one of the country with most public holiday.

for benefit i really dunno much as i din ask about it but its location in cyberjaya is quite far from my place.

i dunno why, hear a lot of bad comment recently about shell, my colleague also say that shell is cutting all the employee benefit that previously have.
*

are you fresh ? fresh salary will be less than rm2.5K....that's for sure, plus with the inconvenience location, plus with the not competitive allowance rate, if I were you, I wont be much dissapointed. Seriously, there are really better paying company out there. and officially, the relocation allowance has been cut off for new staff under the graduate scheme biggrin.gif

but u get car allowance + parking allowance even you dont own a car wor....why need petrol / toll allowance while u not need go to office everdays  or maybe 1-2 days per week.... tongue.gif  if u want better salary scale in siham, then keep on upgrade urself with skills that siham wanted...i believe the salary scheme in siham is very good to flush out all the deadwood and underperform staff.. whistling.gif

hhmmm.....seriously, those 2 allowances i think is depending on your salary scale, though the differences might be only rm50 for different salary scale. dont need to go to office everyday or only 1 - 2 days per week ? shocking.gif I dont see my friends working there doing that...

"if u want better salary scale in siham, then keep on upgrade urself with skills that siham wanted...i believe the salary scheme in siham is very good to flush out all the deadwood and underperform staff.." - last time used to be very good, then once the formation of business service centres happen, everything is no longer as good as you ever think, unless you are at manager or team lead level...
