QUOTE(andrekua @ Oct 3 2010, 11:02 AM) WTH!!?? Actually, High End and Mid End is just a term used to classify the phone by its price range, not really by its function/how good it is. I believe my HTC Legend and HTC Desire also cant play 720P smoothly le. Somemore we also dont have BIIIII~~~GGG sensor to take stunning images. Moreover we also dont have PowerSGX graphic processor which is so POWARFUL. N8 is not just high end, its super duper HIGH ENDDDDDD!! Nokia say we dont need ARMv7, then we dont need... and we still capable of doing thing better than they did.. NOKIA ROCKS!!!~~~ High ends (>RM 2k): E7, Xperia X10, SGS, iPhail 4 (this one because of BRAND only Mid-High (RM 1500-2k): N900 (was a high end, now drop liao), N8, S.Wave, Vivaz, Satio Mid End (RM 1000-1500): X6, C6-01, C7 (sori, less example, i dunno much lower ends bcos i dun care LOL Mid-Low (RM500-1k) Low : Dumbphones |

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Oct 3 2010, 11:22 AM) X10 is not high end The status of a phone drops mah. N97 was high end but now mid end only. Xperia X10 was supposed to be SE's flagship (and so, a high end), but later got X10 Pro replace liao. E7 i heard nokia gonna put in at least 800Mhz (maybe 1Gb, who knows) and 512Mb RAM, the specs we know is not final yet. Price after tax will be like, 2.4 or 2.5k. SGS is high end E7 kinda high-end but still it's Symbian (a little bit of a controversy to Nokia's statement) Iphone 4 (you know lar...for the half-bitten fruit, you pay more) Vivaz, Satio is kinda mid-low atm I kinda think all Symbian^1 devices demoted to Low and Mid-low already N8 is Nseries flagship (entertainment), E7 is Business flagship. Other phone producer din make 2 separate flagship bcos they dun care bout entertainment, they care about duo core 1.5GHZ processors to make ppl drool only ... Added on October 3, 2010, 11:32 am QUOTE(andrekua @ Oct 3 2010, 11:29 AM) Back during 2G and 3G model, I would agree with you. Right now its one of the best hardware you can find and still being rated middle range. Fanboys are defined as people rating their devices as "the highest ends" whether they are good or bad, and rating the best phones from other companies as low end dumbphones. You should re-rate N8 as low end then? Some of you guys called those buying Iphone fanboy, I wonder who's the biggest fanboy hereĀ This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 3 2010, 11:37 AM |

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Oct 3 2010, 11:33 AM) HTC has got some pretty decent phones too but Blackberry haih...only the BBM is attractive...besides that, I don't see the point I agree for 3gs, not the 4th one. Their did well in software and interface, but they screw up the hardware (you know what it is). but actually if there's a community for OVI Contacts, then we get to have a online messaging features on Nokia like BBM too but nobody is using it ==lll Added on October 3, 2010, 11:34 am My mom keep saying wah...quite good ah my Iphone...can do this can do that...actually I think for regular users not power users, Iphone is indeed pretty good This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 3 2010, 11:45 AM |

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 3 2010, 11:53 AM) I agree iP4 is mid end. *Correction: It is high end when it comes to apps and online, or high end as an "iPod", worse than low end as a PHONE because it makes worse PHONE CALLS than Nokia 1110 ROFLMAO... QUOTE(BuFung @ Oct 3 2010, 12:04 PM) Welcome back to spice up the discussion... Not worried about games and multimedia - that is what the N8 is made for. Business users may not like the N8 if they want 1GHz speed. It doesn't have any different from ppl who keep on saying the other phone how no bad compare the n8... It is the same wt those idoncare fanboy.... N8 multimedia platform very good? Wait till n8 can run all sort game n multimedia as smooth as the iphone4 only said not late yet.... |

QUOTE(hengguowei @ Oct 3 2010, 12:21 PM) Agreeable, sometimes it makes me wonder if a smartphone is actually a phone that is smart enough to make basic (not so smart) people know how to use with ease and I think Iphone is just doing that...sorry to post this in N8 thread...when my mum says her Iphone "gom sai lei wor...can do this can do that...I kinda wanna smack head but kinda wanna agree too...it's pretty smart to help a basic user to get smart through the phone, isn't that juz kinda smart? Actually here's the problem: iP4, anyone who gets their hand on it learns to use it immediately and fast.Added on October 3, 2010, 12:22 pm No...at least at the moment they are firm not to use it...but what's the point of using Android?... Nokia has Symbian and Meego...they will sensibly not use other OS obviously Symbian: Old users like me who has stuck on Nseries ver since i have the N70 (later N73, and N95), finds it easy to use and user friendly, i can custom anyway i want to make it even easier to use (custom options = more complicated = needs more processor power and Ram). For first timers who touch a nokia, you see this response "WTF is this? How do i get this and that done? How?!" Same case when i used my friends' Samsung with Android. I gave the same reaction. But, people choose Android over Symbian becauseof raw power from the processor, but i am not impressed with Android-powered phones because of battey life. Seems like a matter of preference. For one reason why symbian can lag in older phones is because Ui is complicated compared to iOS. That's my opinion. If Sym3 can make things better by being efficient then it's fine. |

QUOTE(enjay @ Oct 3 2010, 12:31 PM) from nokia china website, price is RMB4988, so price will be around RM2300? those who can read chinese please help to translate? TIA! If u read the newspapers, China received 200k units of iPhail 4 and it sold out in 4-5 days. Why? because they didnt put a sales control like seller in US. When first launch, 1 person maximum can buy 2 iPhail 4s. In China no such control, 1 person buy 6-8 iPhails. Then they wait for it to sell out, and they sell 30% hiher price. Ppl still buy from them cuz' desperate. Now 1st launch N8 stock still limited, so i think those son of b*tches in China are doing the same. In China many tings are not regulated, even official retailers also jack up prices of limited products, not to mention normal people.http://www.shop.nokia.com.cn/promote/n8.ph...ontent=homepage |

LOL it's so funny. Teachradar's N8 review has been heavily biased against nokia and people are bashing techradar in the comments section. Then, what happened? Tech radar removed the phone's ratings and changed the title "review" to Hands On. ROFLMAO. Seems like they admit it (in an indirect matter) and we might get a re-review by a different editor.
Added on October 3, 2010, 12:50 pm QUOTE(enjay @ Oct 3 2010, 12:48 PM) thanks hengguowei! so if we take out the freebies then price is RMB4094, around RM1889. same as local price No wonder. Accessories included. This post has been edited by EXkurogane: Oct 3 2010, 12:50 PM |
