That may be caused by a couple of reasons. Some WiFi router need constant restart (off and on) to establish new WiFi connection. Some may have mac address security setup so only device with registered mac address can establish connection, although you don't see any security icon next to the access point name.

Yo another newbie to Apple here... planning to get a 32gb ipod touch and have a few questions here...

1. I read a few pages and it sounds like a lot of hassle to transfer files and all. First you have to register with iTunes, convert videos, sync this and that, can't directly transfer mp3 and must go through iTunes, download from there and have to sync this and that before it works..etc. Or is it easier than it sounds? What if I want to use a different PC with no iTunes installed? Do I have to do the installing and syching stuff all over again?

2. If you don't install iTunes, does that mean you won't be able to use you ipod? If I'm not mistaken, you can't drag and drop you files like other players, right?

3. You need a free wifi connection near wherever you are to download and surf right? Does that mean you have to steal other people's wifi if you don't have your own? Like going to Starbucks and use their wifi or something?

4. I'm really new to browing the web on small devices. So you can actually browse the web like an actual PC? Use MSN, youtube and stuffs like that? Anything that a normal PC can do that an ipod can't while surfing?

5. Whats jailbreak? Is it something I need and have to worry about in the future?

6. I'm planning buy one at the Apple store in Sunway Pyramid, current price is RM 1,079.00 at Apple's site. Is it still possible to get a discount or is the price fixed? I know I can probably get a discount if I buy from some other autohrised store but I still feel safer buying from the actual Apple store.

7. I know the 4th generation was just released last September. But any news on a 5th generation? If its gonna be out by September, then I guess I can wait.

1. You need to install iTunes. Sync is basically automatic. It will search for all audio files in your PC and copy it into your Touch. It's very easy.

2. You can still download stuff directly into your Touch like video podcasts, but you would not be able to copy audio files from your PC into it.

3. If you need to download stuff or browse the web, you need WiFi. If you don't feel secure using people's WiFi, you can either get an iPhone or buy a MiFi from maxis or Digi.

4. Touch is basically a computer. You can do almost anything on it, as long as you have the appropriate software which is known as Apps.

make sure that the connection is there. i've experience this before. the wifi is on, but the connection to the internet is not. i don't know the exact terms, it's like the router is on, but the modem is not? could you understand? the wifi is on, but there's no internet. lol

oh...if so why did they said free wifi? haiz. btw, is it possible to connect huawei e585 with iPod?

the wifi logo simply means the ipod is connected to the router, not to the internet

I didn't try foursquare but as far as maps and detecting my location...mine is working fine with wifi on of course.

go for sennheiser. i recommend cx300 for high quality noise cancelling and BASS! i saw ads on mudah or this garage sale forum that cx300 <rm150.
sold off my sennheiser as i sold my ipod, but now i got new ipod using klipsch s4.

Finally purchased my iPod touch 4G 32GB from Lowyat. I must say I love it so far, had issues purchasing apps, but settle dy. Woohoo! Not to mention, I get everything cheap, iPod touch alone saved RM70, invested on a Zagg Invisible Shield Full Maximum and Capdase Xpose2 Soft Jacket.
