you can set ps3 to output hdmi (audio+video) to the lcd tv, then you can plug in those pc speaker system to the lcd tv... it has LINE OUT from the tv (back of the tv usually).

There's no need to use the headphone jack.

if the hdmi port is dead, there's no way to fix it... you have to use multi-av to output video (composite/component)

since hdmi port integrated, you have to change ps3 motherboard too

used ps2 component cable for testing

got hd output (i tried 720p)...the colours are not as good as hdmi output...

take care of your hdmi port and cable... switch ps3 and the tv/monitor off before unplugging the hdmi cable

check pc sound setting, make sure optical is enabled.

what is the game supported resolution? 720p? or 1080i?

if u try to force to run the game at 1080i and failed, of coz it will revert to 480p hmm.gif

most games resolution are at 720p.

some games supported 1080i and 1080p...

most games run optimally on 720p...

its all depends on the game engine running on ps3... stated on the back of cover box

what pc sound card do you use? usually u need to enable DIGITAL IN in mixer (software that controls sound card input and output)

coz mine is creative x-fi series with drive bay...got optical, coaxial etc...

are you sure your motherboard got optical input? hmm.gif what model and brand is your motherboard?

those integrated ones usually have optical output, not input...

the only choice is to use multi-av cable > adapter 3.5mm > pc sound card Line In.... stereo sound only tho

yes you can download update files too using proxy download. thumbup.gif

some games are not possible due to ingame update... and proxy download can't detect those

okay... Avatar BD movie audio track is 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio... its way different than normal DTS

anyway what is ur ps3 sound setting? since there's bunch of options related to optical...

do ps3 reset display.

Make sure ps3 on standby mode (off/red light) then hold the power button for 5 sec to reset the display.

ps3 will display on crt tv.

heavy rain savegame is file-protected/system locked. You can't copy it at all.

are you upgrading hdd? or transfer data from old ps3 to new ps3? or just plain backup and restore? hmm.gif

its so obvious u gonna lose data on that, inc those psn games shared and copy-protected files. Some savegames might not work too. Its not advisable to backup from old ps3 and use it to restore on new ps3... it doesn't work properly.

the best way to transfer data 1 to 1 is using the data transfer utility, from old ps3 to new ps3 (same fw too) on LAN network.

i hope u've deactivated all the psn accounts in ur old ps3, so that u can use it in new ps3.

if u want to get those shared games (like terion), you have to deactivate the account he's given to you. If your ps3 ylod before deactivation, all is lost. You have to rebuy them again.

other savegames (some are fine due to tied only to psn id) and some are copy-protected, meaning it will stick to only your old system signature.

the backup utility is meant for the existing system, not for transfer to the other system.

the only way for you to get all copy protected files are to do what i've suggested, data transfer utility. If you can get ylod ps3 revive for temporary, deactivate all psn id in that system, and transfer all into the new ps3.

Ylod ps3 to revive is 50/50 chance.

lately streamyx not so good, frequent dc and high pings. If you have NAT TYPE 2 then its good to go.

possibility that the hdd is not functioning properly... due to bad sectors
