Guys,I tried playing my PS3 on CRT TV but failed .Can play at LCD TV .Any idea ?

Make sure ps3 on standby mode (off/red light) then hold the power button for 5 sec to reset the display.

ps3 will display on crt tv.

do we need to clean ps3 disc reader head? any product recommended?

I have a problem, just bought a new ps3 slim, before that i backup up all my save files and other data using the backup data utility in the ps3, so now when i back it all up to my new ps3, some of the save files arent there, like heavy rain and the saboteur games which i'v played for like countless of hours are not there in the backup file. As far as i know theres two methods to back up save games, one is done manually (triangle + copy) and the other is with this backup utility. So is there anyway i can get it back ?

and also the psn game sharing, its stated that i have used 30gb of the hd but i cant see the psn games i bought via game sharing

heavy rain savegame is file-protected/system locked. You can't copy it at all.

are you upgrading hdd? or transfer data from old ps3 to new ps3? or just plain backup and restore?

i backed up data from one ps3 before it got hit with ylod, now im restoring it back to another ps3 which i just bought, yea it seems some save files are protected,

its so obvious u gonna lose data on that, inc those psn games shared and copy-protected files. Some savegames might not work too. Its not advisable to backup from old ps3 and use it to restore on new ps3... it doesn't work properly.

the best way to transfer data 1 to 1 is using the data transfer utility, from old ps3 to new ps3 (same fw too) on LAN network.

i hope u've deactivated all the psn accounts in ur old ps3, so that u can use it in new ps3.

but if your ps3 has ylod then you cant really use that transfer utility from old ps3 to new ps3, so for that shared psn games i'v been buying from buyers here like (terion...) theres no way i can get them back right ?

i just expected all my save games to be backup up without any problems, i mean isnt that the essential thing you want backup utility to do and even that is missing a few games like "The saboteur" . Played it for like weeks and now its all gone, really f'ed up

if u want to get those shared games (like terion), you have to deactivate the account he's given to you. If your ps3 ylod before deactivation, all is lost. You have to rebuy them again.

other savegames (some are fine due to tied only to psn id) and some are copy-protected, meaning it will stick to only your old system signature.

the backup utility is meant for the existing system, not for transfer to the other system.

the only way for you to get all copy protected files are to do what i've suggested, data transfer utility. If you can get ylod ps3 revive for temporary, deactivate all psn id in that system, and transfer all into the new ps3.

Ylod ps3 to revive is 50/50 chance.

yea i'v already sold it, the psn games i dont mind buying again, but those save games take time and effort to get it,

Eh guys,i have a question about PSN accounts.

Earlier i was trying to use my online pass code for FIFA 11 and it had some problems saying its expired or already been used so i googled it and apparently i had to choose a country close to mine.
My current PSN is registered as UK (i dont even know why,but i think there was no Malaysian option previously). So then i created a new malaysian one and the code works.

I was just thinking,is there any way to change my country to Malaysia from UK? Ive read that its not possible but i would like to use a malaysian one but im also afraid of losing all my trophies and stuff... Is there anything i can do to change the country?

But how about playing PS3 on LCD Monitor 20" that doesnt have HDMI ?I need HDMI DVI Converter and Y Splitter right ?But the quality is same with HDMI that i use on my LCD TV or not ?And also,can i use headphone for PS3 by using the Y splitter or smth ?

afaik should be better with monitor since it's have better supported resolution. but make sure u'r monitor have HDCP. Never tried before but someone said there will be no display for non-HDCP

about the audio i have no idea..but it's possible to use Y splitter
