do they sell iphone saperately?? coz last time i asked maxis, they told me their iphone comes with data plan and not sold saperately.
*
Yes they do, I bought my iPhone outright (contract-free) from Maxis centre TTDI a few weeks back. They just told me to get a Hotlink prepaid pack with it, and now using it with my Celcom line no problem.

If any Maxis centres tell you otherwise (must buy with contract lalalalalala) they're just BSing you (or have run out of their quota of contract-free iPhones).

Problem is, stocks are VERY limited and contract buyers are prioritised. So, your best bet for a contract-free purchase is to get it from the MAIN Maxis Centers in KL (KLCC, Midvalley, Pavilion or TTDI), and line up REALLY early in the morning.

Also some forummers have reported success getting a contract free iPhone 4 from the Alor Setar Maxis centre (also with a hotlink pack).

Or get it from other shops, but problem is they mark up the prices. You should get it for the RRP from Maxis centres (I got my 32GB for RM2690). Any more and they are pocketing the difference lol.

Check the Maxis buying thread for more info and updates.

At what time didcha go? IINM after 10am the outright stocks finish edi at KLCC (if they still have any to begin with, too many people buying extras and selling off at a tidy profit).

Lol. In Sunway it's 2.6k for a 16GB set. But yeah, people WILL buy it nonetheless. I could've been one of them, if I wasn't lucky enough that fine Saturday morning.

Really, Apple has really succeeded yet again in creating a device that people will die for lol.

And I used to be a hater too. Just gila.

looks like not gonna happen. apparently Celcom tak peduli about iPhone.

if you *must* stick to Celcom, buy the phone outright & keep your plan.

look in the LY.Net Garage Sales, many people there offering to sign Digi contract & sell off the iPhone4.
*
In a way, I'm kinda sorta happy they aren't offering the iPhone, because if they do, the data plan rates might get really screwed up.

I mean, I can live with the slowness and crap customer service, but Maxis style ultra-hyper-over-billing? No thank you please. I'd rather line up crap early in front of a Maxis Center for an outright purchase, again.

But if Celcom goes Digi style, that's just fine with me.

Just upgraded to P148. Darnit, I need a larger data cap. 5GB is insufficient lol. Downloading at 3mbps is addictive lol.

Celcom data usually is free of bill shock/hidden costs, the cheaper the package the smaller the cap and max speed. After reaching the cap = throttling to 5-10% the original speed.

Thats's all I guess.

Although Celcom billing does get into sawan mode sometimes, and charges you funny. But usually things would be settled by the month after that.

U can use it like dat but u cant received/send mms if u turn off cellular data..im using celcom exec50+rm68 unlimited b.band..i think its better & safer to use unlimited to avoid exceeding data limit..& if u compare with other operator unlimited data, celcom's unlimited data (rm68 & rm98) plan is far cheaper & better..
*
It's slower then BillshoxToTheMax-is, but at least no Billshock. And there is no such thing as "unlimited data", at least not in the truest sense (24/7/365 full speed internet). My "Unlimited Data" package is capped at 5GB and throttled to 256kbps (I think) after that.

But when you consider the fact that going over the cap doesn't give you additional charges (unlike Maxis) and you can still use your slower throttled connection for as much as you want, it might just be "Unlimited" after all.

Only in a very limited way lol.

does anyone know how to check which date is the cut off date for the data package in celcom every month? thinking to reset my iphone statistic on the cut off date, so can easily see how much data i have using for a month.... thx
*
The reset date should be the 3rd of every month. And use the iDataUsage app for that, it's much easier to keep track.

And an official Celcom iP4 THIS late in the game? Granted we have a solid 4-5 months before the Five ARRIVES OFFICIALLY on our shores, but that's cutting it really2 close. Unless they exclusively have the WHITE one lol.

And for the love of God, NO UPWARDS REVISION OF THE DATA RATES CELCOM.

A larger throttle cap for us Unlimited 3G Advanced guys would be appreciated though, say 15-20GB?

But, really, a year of rumours and hot air and they expect us to wait for them? Lol.

@Eiraku there's still millions of Celcom subscribers... they're doing this to keep their loyal customers, not attract Maxis / Digi customers who want low rates. why should Celcom lower their rates? aren't they making lots of money already?
*
I'm not asking them to go lower, I'm asking them not to go batshit crazy with the rates like Maxis did after they first became an Official iPhone distro (3G? 3GS? Forgot). I distinctly remember Maxis data rates gradually going sky-high, leading to the complete discontinuation of the "Unlimited Data" package.

The current Celcom plans are good enough (especially the Biz plans). The asking for extra cap thing was just me being wistful.

Unless CelAxi comes up with EVEN BETTER plans lol, you never know. But knowing how greed drives this industry, sigh.

But if they really are coming up with the 4 (without succumbing to too much greed), I'm actually quite glad. Other then the epileptic billing and unbelievable data congestion in urban areas (and not so fun 3.2mbps max cap where it's not congested), Celcom has yet to fail me, and it's gonna be an easy reccomendation to anyone I know wishing to get themselves an iPhone.

If they really are coming with the 4 soon ANYWAY. We've been hearing rumours since ooooo, last year? So forgive me for being even remotely skeptical.

As for Maxis, my own brother is bleeding due to billshock and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it until 2012, except maybe report to the Consumer Tribunal.

And yes, he keeps a close tab on his data usage, but gets billshocked anyway. Damned leaches.

yes bro,.sms    is the main $$! i just started to use celcom exec50 n i dun make call, just texting people and when got bill, badabing!!! rclxub.gif call celcom center and they said it themselves that sms is more expensive using bill than making call n data usage..
*
Higher end data is only throttled beyond the quota. No extra billing. Makes Whatsapp/Viber/Facetime + 3GUnristrictor/TextFreek worth it.

Hopefully they don't have any plan better then my Goverment P148, or I'll be crap sad I'm stuck in my 2 year contract.

Lolz Sialcom.

Seriously, I'm hoping that data doesn't go down as soon as those thousands of Celcom iPhones go online. 3G is crap congested as it is right now, especially in the Klang Valley.

Buy outright, find lobang, get P148 enterprise plan, enjoice.

I'm starting to think that they won't be offering any better deals then what I already have, plan wise. Sure, phone's gonna be cheaper on contract of course.
