well, Celcom doesn't care. they got the Malay market sewn up as well as the govt-linked companies. so ... they don't really need your money & my money.

but I still like their widest 3G coverage... got EDGE even in Teluk Intan!

@ sythersly you are wierd. you're not loyal to Apple or any telco. what exactly do you want?

@ vonzipper the real insiders don't post on internet forum and get fired. they tell their friends whom they can trust to keep their mouths shut.

@ruffyfluffy are you new here? the rumour is that Celcom will launch iPhone 4 in December. its still early. maybe it will be a Christmas launch. the question is, don't you want iPhone4 on the widest 3G coverage carrier in Malaysia?

if you're wanting cheap, go Digi. if you want arrogant hotline + bill shock, go Maxis.

Celcom will launch iPhone4 if they can make a profit. Like any other business. so right now, they are trying to find a way to get govt. departments, the Malay businesses & GLC to sign up. got it? all of us here in this forum are *not enough* to get Celcom to invest >RM1 million to sell iPhone4.

loyalty is rewarded. that's why Maxis has One Club.
loyalty to Apple on the other hand, is its own reward.
280,000 applications. hassle-free sync to a competitor's technology (gmail). the first mobile browser that delivers desktop browsing. Why didn't the incumbents deliver this? Why did it take Apple, a new player, to do these?

now, if you want good service at a reasonable price, thats Maxis or Celcom. Digi's 3G service is still only available in cities.

If a telco can attract you with just lower pricing, are you sure they're providing the same service? I know that Digi's tech support is not as detailed or expert as Celcom, but since I can do that myself, I switched to Digi. that may not be true for you.

don't ever forget that HTC, Samsung & the other Android partners have no loyalty / alliance with Google. They're using Android cos its cheap. They'll use Windows 7 Phone if there's demand.

They don't care about our experience or our expectations.

@SSingh yep, you're new here. Apple has not, to-date, allowed closed-door sales of any of their products. I sincerely doubt that they allowed Celcom to do so, for the hottest iPhone yet.

on top of that, at Robinsons? traffic there is bad... both pedestrian AND parking

didn't realise y'all so sensitive here. I can't even mention that someone is new? y'all can be mean, but I cannot?

what I mean to say is, Apple is quite simple to figure out. look at their past actions & try to figure it out la. but I guess y'all prefer that I don't comment at all, right?

@MeLaMaL we all can't answer any of your questions, cos Celcom hasn't announced that they're becoming an iPhone partner. wait for official news for official answers.

speculation, based on previous telco :
1. yes, can. wait for the Celcom iPhone plans (if they ever launch).
2. no official answer. ^^
3. yes.
4. here's the official answer > http://coverage.celcom.com.my/CelcomCovera...comCoverage.jsp

@natzakaria you going to share or not? he did say non-jailbreak... or did you not read that part?

@JayC75 the excitement is cos until now, Celcom customers were unable to even Facetime over WiFi, cos the activation SMS-es (to Apple) were not going thru...

@nalvinj have you used a 3G phone and made a video call? compare it to a FaceTime call...

also, a FaceTime call is simple & straightforward. one button. that's all. last but not least, FaceTime is a modern, open technology that Apple hopes the rest of the computer AND mobile phone industry will adopt.

tl;dr version : Apple has built a better video call technology, leaving out the old version.

@kekura nope, the RM2090 is the cost of the phone. you're getting the discount cos Digi is charging you RM68 when the plan is RM88. RM20 * 24 = your discount.

every month definitely got bill, minimum RM68.

looks like not gonna happen. apparently Celcom tak peduli about iPhone.

if you *must* stick to Celcom, buy the phone outright & keep your plan.

look in the LY.Net Garage Sales, many people there offering to sign Digi contract & sell off the iPhone4.

@Eiraku there's still millions of Celcom subscribers... they're doing this to keep their loyal customers, not attract Maxis / Digi customers who want low rates. why should Celcom lower their rates? aren't they making lots of money already?

@ vin_ann Apple doesn't allow the partners to 'leak' the launch date. all we can do is keep refreshing that link every morning smile.gif
