Then how come other people call CS. And they said can buy the phone outright?

for hotlink users, Hotlink subscribers will be required to upgrade to a principal line in order to purchase an iPhone4 with an iValue plan.

Regarding the hotlink applying to principal line . Can we do this on the spot during the launch ? Or have to upgrade separately before ?
*
Sorry brother, I not sure you can convert your Hotlink to Postpaid during the launch or not, if you want to play safe you can just goto any Maxis Centre convert your hotlink to postpaid first, take the lower plan they have then pay RM50 for advance payment.

Can I convert prepaid to postpaid via the phone? If not, how long does it take to convert from hotlink to postpaid say Value First plan at a Maxis center?

So the advance payment will be used for credit on the next statement?
*
Yes, also, if your prepaid still have balance, that will carry forward to your postpaid, the next billing will deduct everything.
the whole process only took about half hour... emm i think less than that.
