Are you getting the phone outright, or plan? Just wondering if they still allow prepaid customers to purchase outright.

Do anyone know if you get the new micro SIM from Maxis, whether it comes with the adapter to use with normal SIM phones?

@MiniYoshi: It doesn't come with a MicroSIM -> SIM adapter.
However, you can buy one cheaply from LYN-Forum's Garage Sales for less than RM10.

Thanks TechnoDude94... just heard from my colleague who just got her iPhone 4 with Digi, the micro SIM pack comes with the adapter as well.

Hmm, my guess is... ppl taking the chance to earn extra bucks by reselling the phone at a higher price to those who are desperate to get them. They get the "better" value plan with data, and probably use it on another device. Wondering if Maxis will know whether such subscribers are using the data plan meant for iPhone on a different device? What actions can Maxis do?

What if i dont have any maxis line? im celcom user. Can i still get iData plan and phone only? i mean just for internet.

I don't think that is possible. The iData plan is supposedly meant as "addition" for existing Maxis customers subscribed to plans other than iValue plans (iValue plan already have some data package included).

Heard from friend that Celcom is selling iPhone 4 on 10/10/10, not sure true or not.

the US i4 took over the 3gs price...

BEFORE iphone 4 :
3gs = $ 299
3g  = $ 199

AFTER iphone 4 :
i4 = $ 299
3gs = $ 199

correct me if i'm wrong

The pricing you quoted, are prices for 24 months contract with AT&T. The outright prices are $599 and $699 for 16GB and 32GB respectively. And yes, Apple reduced the prices in the US for iPhone 3GS when iPhone 4 was released. This has been the trend.

Hmm, I got a feeling that Maxis is "controlling" the number of 16GB and 32GB to be sold daily by each centers. Personally, I don't think they have "out of stock" situations, well, not so soon anyway. The last time I went to The Gardens, I saw the Maxis personnel moving to and fro from the registration counter, to a room on the far end of the shop and coming out with the phones. I think they have stocks stashed away in each center's store and not visible to customers.

Think about it... if there is a long queue every morning at every Maxis centers, and from the thread postings above, everywhere is out of stock for the 16GB, don't you think Maxis should have put up a quick notice or at least inform people in queue about the situation earlier, rather than telling them only when the center opens for business? Am sure there would be agitated customers when they get such treatments. And now, postings mentioned that 16GB is available already?

Just curious, did anyone see Maxis personnels carrying boxes of iPhones into the shops at all? Trying to prove my theory...

Also to control the mysterious number of units that they have so it doesn't run out quick.

With their marketing strategy used right now... sooner or later it's going to be the "boy cried wolf" scenario... whereby customers would never believe that the phones will be out of stock even when Maxis personnels tell the truth that it really has been depleted.

Here's a tip for prepaid users who wants to buy iPhone 4 and enjoy the free 500MB data plan for 12 months.... IF you have previously purchased an iPhone 3Gs with the free 500MB data plan, and at the time of purchase of iPhone 4, your existing free data plan has not lapsed as yet, you WILL NOT be eligible for the additional free 500MB data plan. Maxis don't have the capability to "terminate" your free prepaid data plan and use the new free data plan, nor are they able to extend the duration of the free 500MB data plan. The only way to enjoy this free 500MB data plan is either:
1. Get a new prepaid number and buy the iPhone4 outright, or
2. Wait til your existing free 500MB data plan expires / lapse, and buy your iPhone4 with existing prepaid number (which could be months later, depending on when your existing free data plan was activated).

Hope that helps...
