erm.. no ChangeLog about USB tethering... before, using 7.9 are not working...

temporarily will not give a try at this moment. USB tethering & WiFI HotSpot from 7.9 failed me.
right now are satisfied with MIUI, USB tethering & WiFi HotSpot working PERFECT natively!!!
no need to add on any kernel, extra configure..... just turn on and used it... my computer also plug-n-play on USB internet.

so unfortunately, in my case won't resolved. I had tried latest radio, #17 kernel.

yes, I'm using eevek rom and top up j-style theme now. just loving it..
without sense, I'm ok.

correct. originally MIUI are all in chinese, the developer too. every version release, there is good guys/gals from xda doing the translation, many language pack found there. either original+lang pack or all-in-one like eevek english version.

so I choose eevek MIUI rom, easiest. and then J-style also take the source from eevek and add on some nice stuff like icon pack or theme. in conclusion, I not only using J-style theme but also completely using MIUI ROM.

if you don't want to try J-Style beta version, then you may flash eevek rom first. in future, you may flash again J-style without wipe.

i think u might get confuse. basic MIUI already using iOS interface look alike, not the typical android 2.2 interface. J-style is basic MIUI + add-on theme to change better nice icon pack, add-on apps, extra add-on functionality. that's why when you see the J-style xda thread, the instruction stated flash 1st rom (MIUI) and full boot, then flash second time again(extra stuff). hope you understand better.

after partition, make sure u using the ROMs support A2SD+.
how to verify it work or not, try terminal with su, a2sd check or using app Qiuck System Info.

since it's stated EXPERIMENTAL STUFF, so I din try it. no comment. But I can tell you, normal MIUI english 11.05 work fine.
1 known issue I found out, might encounter intermittent launcher FC. second is the timezone issue. download TimeZone Changer app to fix it.

J-style always add on new stuff almost everyday and many changelog, that's good thing.
but I just follow and stop for last week update only.
If you afraid of any bugs or unstable issue, you flash the 1st ROM. after full boot and test, using it.
do a full nandroid or backup. then only try his experimental stuff when free, since it is a bonus add-on.

p/s: if always want the latest custom rom release, no matter which rom, nobody can guarantee stable or bugless.....

I'm using class 4 only, I run the same test. result is write=2MB/s read=7MB/s only :S
I guess result on this test might affected by which rom or kernel that you're using; might be also no accurate.

I suggest take out the memory card test in PC are better. since most of our pc OS are standard.
using Crystal Disk Mark, my same class 4 card can get write=4.997MB/s read=7.175MB/s.

download google calendar sync install on your computer that you using outlook.
both your computer and phone sign in the same gmail account. after sync, you're done.
beside calendar, gmail account also can keep phone contact.
cloud rule.

Yes, I also felt that miui reducing unnecessary process to free up more resources.
miui also using kernel version 2.6.34.5 and it's rock!
is newer version of kernel than stock froyo if not mistaken.

yes, you just need to titanium backup the apps. I recommended to restore only app without data because certain Sense data might corrupted the MIUI or causing FC. if you need certain app+data, need to select carefully to restore.

MIUI by default support A2SD+ but only the dalvik cache is still in internal memory. meant apps still store in SD.
there is pro & cons for dalvik cache in internal memory or sd for performance. depend on you. (personally I choose more space)
