1v1 and 2v2, BOTH. I think they both have competitor AND spectator appeal:

- 1v1 is purely about the RTS skill of one player against another. It makes for exciting watching of tactics and execution.

- 2v2 is a fine combination of skill and teamwork. Watching these are great, with bigger battles and different race combinations.

Most importantly, I think automatch rules need to be set. Take & Hold is too fun a victory condition to ignore - in fact, I feel it's fundamental to DoW. Wars are about fighting over positions and points, NOT about destroying the enemy to the last man (or building, in this case).

I've been watching the posted replays, and I have a question to the organisers. I've noticed that some teams change their races during the tournament. Is that meant to be?

Thanks for the response, King. That begs more questions, though:

1) Why is random not allowed?

2) Why do you allow changing races during the tournament?

I'm asking because the fact that you're allowing race changes makes it potentially very messy - team A could change on seeing team B's races, and then team B responds to that change by changing, and team A changes in response, repeat ad nauseam. Of course, that didn't happen, so that's good.

Hunt : I too would think that it's the Space Marines. Chaos would be the next most common race - alot of SM players would sometimes switch to Chaos, depending on the match-up. I think Eldar's the 3rd most common, but I'm not sure.

King, I acknowledge you for your open-minded acceptance of our arguments. It's not often I see people go "yes that's a good idea, better than what I used to think", especially on forums.

Next: random races IS good! wink.gif I think, especially in a team game, that having a random race makes it a very interesting match. It would imply that the team having the random player would have practiced with all possible match-ups. And yes, the opponents would have to scout / recon the random to find out who they were, which is a fact of strategy games anyway.

King, will you guys be bringing in Winter Assault? Any dates yet?

Ravana, congrats. You guys played one hell of a game against EC Team in the tournament, that replay made great viewing.

Are you crazy?!? OF COURSE I'M GONNA BUY IT!!!!!!!

It'll be even more classic if it was in Malay. I can't ever forget that line : Di dalam peperangan, hanya satu perintahan - anda mesti membunuh!

King, it's probably obvious but I highly recommend you sell packages of DoW + WA when it comes out. Makes it an incentive for "converts", if you know what I mean.

QUOTE(Hunt @ Jul 12 2005, 02:26 PM)
The manual in the first one had so many errors, for instance the hot keys behind says when you want your units to run faster press 'delete'..
That's a pretty good joke, actually. If it was intentional.

I liked how "barracks" had 3 different translations. Burak and Barrak and Buruk and Berak, whatever lah. My favourite is still the "pendahaga darah".

Who does these translations anyway??

You'd have to call it Lantak-Peperangan Empat-Puluh-Ribu, dengan bangsa yang baru - Penjaga Diraja!

But that is an interesting issue to pursue though: who does the translations for New Era Interactive?
