I has been juggling between Panasonic G3 & X100, finally i made the kill on X100 as i want something slim/small/with extremely good pic quality, & most important i will stay away from the multiple lens poison
My impression on X100,
- box packaging is nothing to shout about, just decent, original strap is just normal PU stuff (if it is genuine leather it will be awesome)
- Camera is damn solid built, it surprisingly quite large size though & slight weight more than i expected
- All buttons/dials feels nice (just like other i think the MENU/OK is slight small, someone didn't paste another button on top of it so it is easier to access), i wish it has 1 more addition Fn (customize button) & ISO independent dial too.
- Hybrid viewfinder is awesome, OVF is super clear & nice but has some parallax error, so most the time i am using EVF instead
- F2 aperture bokeh effect is pretty nice
- F4 aperture is razor sharp
- FujiChinon lens is sharp & have good clarity

Here are my findings on X100
- It doesn't have Face detection, so u have to train yourself to focus & more aware where to focus, when using DSLR, we take things for granted, just press zoom button, the rest is happen so fast & history.
- Its AF is slow compare to DSLR or M4/3 (GF2), especially on macro shot, but compare to other Rangefinder camera which don;t even have AF. So i think i can live with it. But normal landscape focus is pretty fast.
- Many did complain as it can't AF in the dark situation, but after reading Stevehuff tips, i switch on AF assist light (i off all the sound & silent mode), darn it really can capture very dark situation (even my dark fur chinchilla is able to capture), the picture clarity is so nice IMO & i didn't use any flash
- I did use the Sandisk 16GB 50mb/s, startup is just like instantly (no issue for me)
- If u want to something really more macro short, i found out u can use AEL/AFL button to zoom in further on MF mode
- EV dial is really useful, whenever u are shooting at nite or bright situation
- ND filter is really useful, so i set my FN button to ND filter quick access
- many bracketing option can be used (ISO, EV, film mode & etc)
I wish X100 will be better if
- battery life is longer like 550D can handle up to 500+ pix, while X100 can handle around 260-300 pix (need to off LCD, i did activate fast start mode)
- fast AF (closes to GF2), it will be perfect
*i am still waiting for the my Hood & adapter ring coming this week
*i pimp it with red soft release button & red strap.
*after 2-3days messing around with X100, i am able to gain more knowledge on camera parameter control & its effect ( i am consider newbies)
*I did bought another original spare battery
Just sharing my thoughts, don't flame me if i mentioned anything wrong above as i am newbies in photographing
