you can just purchase wire cover from any hardware shop.


The problem is, so far, I don't find any black color... but it can be painted if needed.

The best is hire a contractor to hack your wall and conceal the wire inside the wall..

proper way is have it wall hide it. that is done during reno.

sorry, can tumpang thread on a similar question - what would be a typical height to mount a 40" lcd in a living room?
should your eye level be at the vertical center of lcd like 4-5 ft from floor level?

It very much depends on the height of your living room sofa. I remembered purchasing my very first lcd and when the deliveryman arrived, they asked me to seat down comfortably on the chair and they will either raise or lower down the lcd to suit my viewing pleasure.

And to TS. As mentioned, you can either hack those wall to conceal those wire. If you do not prefer hacking, my another solution would be custom made a wooden panal as a decorative panel to hide those cables. That is what I do for my living room and family hall. Result is satisfying.

At normal sitting level the your eye level should be approximately level with the center of the screen.

If you have those more advanced wall mount that can tilt/swivel then it's not so much of a problem as you can alter the angle to suit.

Building those shelves with wooden panel is the most common solution nowadays to conceal wires or just buy those pre-made with panel from Ikea.

I believe you can always spray or paint them to your desired color. Not a big deal here.

No need break the wall, just put cable runs on conduits inside after hack inside the wall then you can pull in new cable as you like.

The best is the face the OWNERS face or eye level smack center to bottom...I emphasis on the owner because he is paying for it.....not the wife or the kids.
When you sit in the sofa, make sure you are sunk in, then position the TV.

But this is just a guide line, that is good for 10 feet viewing...the closer you get to the screen, the more middle it has to be. If you are sitting abt 12~15 feet, you can position the TV a bit higher also never mind...but not to high. The seats also play important role in the installation.

The problem with the tape is, it can peel off the wall paint eventually, unless it sticks on the bare wall cement, or on clean shiny surface like wall tiles..
Also, screw is not really necessary since the cover is light weight. You can just use a nail for concrete.

last time during my renovation, I wish to hack the wall to wire the surround speaker.. but since the house wiring for the my whole house has reached 6K already, I couldn't afford to ask them for more wall hacking

3 pin plug no, usually if you wanna pull power cable just unscrew the plug, pull the wire, then screw the plug back on. 5 mins job only.

I pulled speaker cable for the surround speakers, wireman didn't charge me extra cos I ady rewire the whole house, he help me pull CAT6 cable too for my HTPC (from study to TV area) put he couldn't put the faceplate.

not too sure if that would work with plugs that are already moulded to the cable, nvm, will explore this idea
