So JW Marriott Hotel is coming to Empire City.

THE EMPIRE MALL

was told they are talking to Central (Thailand) and DFS Galleria (international high end) as departmental stores.... woooooo

Nvm, got JW Marriott hotel already.

DFS Galleria would be awesome... but maybe dreaming... haha. DFS has LV, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Hermes sub-shops inside... a rare for departmental store.

Modelled after Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Sydney DFS Galleria.

HARRODS (London) - the only one planning their store in Malaysia at the moment...

GALERIES LAFAYETTE (Paris) - just opened their megastore in Jakarta

MITSUKOSHI (Tokyo) - the upmarket sister chain of Isetan

Malaysia is a relatively small market for retailers... their focus is now Indonesia first.

And our mentality is we want to buy lower price goods... not like how Thais love to buy Givenchy shirts... lol

I went for a walk in the area and really quiet and spotted some agents and owners. Other than that, the whole place seems "locked-up".
