My take on this after reading 7 pages of it (and all the links):

rebelsoul76, perhaps you should read back all the pages & also read up on all the links provided by the people who got con. As you can see, there have been people, mostly victims that had already done something - tracing the guy's phones, address & more, posting up warnings here & in Lelong.com.my, making a website to catch this person, lodging reports to the police and other law enforcement officials, heck some even tried to take it to their own hands by going straight to the house of this person! Perhaps you should chill for a moment & think about what you have done to get this guy instead of blaming the people that had been con & thsoe who are helping with this matter - UNLESS you are the conman himself. I'm not gonna argue about it with you because I am nobody here, just another forumer, and as I can see you have 1000+ posts in this forum which means you should be a veteran, but I'm just giving a friendly reminder that you should watch what you are postings. We are Malaysian after all & everyone is after this guy, so perhaps a little bit of constructive & positive posts & suggestions can help in the way. Maybe you & the rest do not agree with my comments here, but that's just what I feel. /sorry

To the rest, good job so far, apparently this guy had been operating at other places as well (as mentioned in lelong.com.my), so he must've been dodging alot since then. We all know that we can't take matters into our hands too much as we have our own daily business to go through, and that we ourselves might get into trouble with the law if we do beat up the guy once we caught him (but for those who are intending to do so, it's your choice), so my advice is to keep pressing with all the cooperations with the law (keep contacting them) & make use of all necessary media to help in the matter. Keep up the good work thumbup.gif

Ooo friendly reminder to watch wat I'm posting huh? Pls enlighten me, how by challenging the con victims to follow up their case, does that make me a bad person? And you even *almost* labelled me the CONMAN HIMSELF laugh.gif wow, u crack me up!

I wonder if you have ever heard of reverse psychology?

i actually agree with rebelsoul
I remember reading about this poweredge guy ages ago, and then i see this thread, with recent pictures of him looking all smug and all that
I wasn't one of the victims but... that really just pisses me off
What i see being done here are a lot of passive approaches to the situation
And what i've learnt from reading about all these 'conmen' is.. none of them ever got caught ( correct me if i'm wrong ), even though so much information is gathered about them
But.. as firedauz has pointed out, what can ppl do in this situation to be proactive and yet remain in the confines of the law.. aside from the odd police report

I really cannot imagine what i'll do in a victim's position

To me, simply put, its like this

guy takes your money
you can't do anything about it
guy is all smug and free somewhere --> see pic 2 , first page

Hehehe glad u like my avatar biggrin.gif

Yay it's good that you didn't take what I said the wrong way wink.gif I guess those must be your way of reversing the psychology for the victims - although I find it not to my appeal of encouragement, but that is just me, don't mind me. And do note that I was kidding about you being the conman, it will look weird if a conman had over 1000+ posts & still undetectable by the admin tongue.gif

Anyhow, we are all after the same bad guy, if one day he is caught, someone please post up the news right in this topic thumbup.gif

It's really a shame when even the victims of the con case choose to voice out their anger in an online forum, instead of dong something concrete to nab the conman.
I think we already done more then enough in legal action, and i don't think we need to post all the police report here to prove whatever, right?

i think is enough "reverse psychology".

i don't think i can have my money back but voice out here is to avoid more ppl con by this guy.

i think gavlim, me, sham, jamesy and the rest is done the good job in legal way. if we need to do more action, we have to join the dark side , use the power of dark side.. haha..

may the force be with us...

did went back to the polica station and ask what they have done to your case? They need to show you what they have done as far as looking for this guy. I am no police but i am not sure why it's so hard to look for this guy.

With all the leads they could either look for this conman or the wife. It's so easy, just tap into her Maybank account will do. Or they could look into their IC address or they could look in credit card companies or they could look in bank accounts to trace for them. I am sure it can be done easily by police (if they willing to do it).

Oh well...not enough boot in the butt i guess...

As I said, I support blowing this case out in the medias. But the reporters would want to hear the story from the victims themselves. So, it's up to you guys. Take some initiative and write/go meet The Star, NSTP, TV3, NTV7 etc.
