QUOTE(aerobowl @ Oct 30 2010, 01:08 PM) You guys seem to have your math twisted.Just buy the tab at 1849 with the cheapest one year contract and even if you throw away/don't use the 3G, you end up paying 1849 plus rm48 for 12 months which is 576 so the total you pay for the device is rm2425.00. Tell me I am wrong - I can't be because I just did it by buying it. I suppose the only catch is that you need to buy under a Maxis user's line. Added on October 30, 2010, 3:11 pm QUOTE(maya9090 @ Oct 30 2010, 02:05 PM) Can it make 3G video calls without relying on other apps? CS in maxis center claims cant, but i doubt his words...as usual how about just dialing someone via video call, you will find out sure enough though 30 sen or so poorer...This post has been edited by sbd: Oct 30 2010, 03:11 PM |

QUOTE(basSist @ Oct 30 2010, 03:17 PM) becareful of the maxis data charges.. it will be more than the actual RM2699 price after 2-3 months... experience yourself. good luck. I "throw away" their data package, i.e. don't use it. If I need to use in an emergency, I still can use and surely won't use more that 500mb so there you go. |

QUOTE(basSist @ Oct 30 2010, 05:42 PM) even some of them terminate their maxis line but still get charges bill.. hehehe seems I get the last laugh, after I posted this:better buy outright. crazy billing system of maxis. good luck. "You guys seem to have your math twisted. Guess what, I just terminated the contract yesterday and paid a rm500 penalty so my cost is 1849 plus 500 for basically an outright purchase. If I had kept the data plan going, even if I don;t use the data, I would have ended up paying nearly rm600 (12 months x rm48) and also the possibility of nasty Maxis charges! So there another nearly rm100 saving... |

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Nov 12 2010, 03:39 PM) Hmm, if what you say is right, then can't I just buy the 24 months contract Galaxy S at 1099 and then cancel the line at RM500, which make the Galaxy S only 1599? not that easy if i am not mistaken, (at least true for the galaxy s), penalty for 1 yr contract rm500 and 2 yr is rm1000 so yes you will save another rm100 but the rm1099 plan is withdrawn, I checked! This post has been edited by sbd: Nov 12 2010, 04:42 PM |

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Nov 12 2010, 05:10 PM) Its still here I went there personally to also buy a Galaxy S as per that plan - they won't let you have it. It expired last Sunday. I had to take the 1699 plan and pay the 500 penalty. I was hoping to buy the 1099 plan and pay the 1000 penalty...http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/android/A...id_Packages.asp With 3GB data plan special green box. QUOTE(carjack18 @ Nov 17 2010, 10:11 PM) Do we need to go to Maxis Center to cancel our contract and pay the penalty of RM500 on the spot? yes you have to go to maxis to cancel because you have to pay for the cancellation on the spot; different contracts have different termination fees but i am sure it wont cost an arm and a leg. you can also sell off your desire (at a profit since you got it cheap) and use that profit to bu a tab outright and keep the original data plan and use it for the tab.The reason being that I'm now under contract for my HTC Desire and I like the Samsung Tab but when I call the Maxis, they say I need to subscribe another line, therefore it is expensive for me lo Instead it would be wise for me to cancel my existing contract. |
