Just bought R501MKII... for watching DVD and play games...
For music wise, It still needs improvement specialy for those music and song that represent clear vocal and high tune. (I test out this using stock cable) I will go and replace the stock cable with audio cable and do some test again... Hope it will improve the music and vocal clarity.. But for those dvd music with 5.1 dolby digital... I can say the speaker did the job well.. update: Manage to change the front 2 cable with speaker cable from Supra. The cable is Silver Tinned OFC Loudspeaker Cable. I can say after change this cable, the sound that the front 2 spaker produced is totally different. I not really not good in describing about the sound produced from the speaker but I can tell that the sound is warm with bass a little lean and tight, rarely any feeling of bloom. Next is to test with a pair of speaker cable for QED. I still need to changed the cable for center and rear speaker... Oh yeah the connector port behind the sub is very small.. it only be able to fit max (I think) 1.6 sqmm thickness. This post has been edited by duncax: Sep 8 2005, 05:50 PM |

Just got my S2.1D due to all the fanboys here
Initially wanted to buy from IT Mart @ LYP but they got no stock. Went to Edifier showroom and listened how the M3300 sucked majorly in terms of base. Edifier themselves had no stock on hand either. Then looked at other brands but didn't fit my hearing taste or budget Finally found my babies from CZone. I'm very happy with the speakers. Though I think it needs some 'burn in' time to improve the clarity. Very theatre like sounds which sometimes makes my games too loud (have to reduce volume). Anyone here with success on connecting and using the S/PDIF? I have nForce4 mobo which has S/PDIF out and I connected that to the speakers and tried playing some DVDs but no avail. Any tips? Is S/PDIF only limited to movies? |

No, am not the guy who came yesterday. I bought mine a couple of weeks back.So are u the guy that came yesterday to the showroom? Just to clarify some things about S/PDIF. I know next to nothing about it so please bear with me. Can it play all sounds including games, music and movies via the digital out? I've selected the output to be digital using the latest drivers provided by nVidia but still nothing. At first I though it will only play movies with DTS or Surround Sound tech but I've tried several software players from WinDVD to nVidia's own NVDVD but no sound came out. I even unplugged the analog connection. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

So far no complains as my ACS 45.1 was flabbering while playing dungeon siege II. Time to retire by 7 year old ACS 45.1. Initially wanted to buy from IT Mart @ LYP but they got no stock. Is S/PDIF only limited to movies? Only issue I have with the S2.1D is the 'Orange Juice Squeezer' remote control. Everything is so perfect in the box until I pulled out the remote and go.. 'what the... ' One thing.. has anyone tried to wall mount the sats? The mounting holes at the rear does not seem strong enough to hold the weight, esp if you plan to blast the sats. Instead of ripping the hinges off the wall, I'm afraid that the hinge might rip the wood off the sat housing. |

QUOTE(shockk @ Sep 15 2005, 04:30 PM) omg. how come u didn't know about the remote? I know about the remote from all the reviews. What I didn't know is how it felt in comparison to the rest of the system. The only problem I have is the lack of volume precision while using the orange juice squeezer. It takes a few turns to move the volume up one bar. I know it just a scale thing but wish it was more precise.it's okla. just try to keep it out-of-view when not in use. about mounting the sats to the wall, they should keep their hold. because our Edifier speaker stands use that hole as a mount but it's supported by a small metal base(from the speaker stand) right under the sat. |

But I added some support on the bottom rear edge by double side tape so the weight is more distributed. Maybe u can try using some stronger supporting materialsomething like this This post has been edited by shinnosuke: Sep 15 2005, 07:26 PM |
