I don't know the shop name it's beside darson electronic and the one that sell on the side road
under the tree. And when i said sometimes i meant it rarely. The price depend, if many then cheap.
Usually around rm15-35.Sometime they also have weird snakehead name e.g haruan harimau  laugh.gif

Hi,

Can anyone recommand a very silent sump pump for an 8 feet aquarium?

*
Hi, perhaps you could try Rio 32HF. Been reading good things about this brand. Can contact a seller in Lelong, he may not advertise this size, but you can try asking. Apart from that, seen Batu Karang Laut in Subang selling this brand. I inquired for the smaller ones.

Hey, thank you so much for the offer.  smile.gif  Waiting for your pictures. Hopefully it's not too big, later no space for my fish to swim around.
Ladies and gentlemen,

I present to you, the tank:

It's under the porch. Will have to wait till October when the house is done being renovated sad.gif

Time to go searching for all the other stuffs.

To the batmobile!

Great looking tank. Did you ask what kind of wood they used?

You mentioned the previous owner used it, but for how long has it been dried? And waiting till October, you can call me paranoid, but am worried the silicone may dry up as well.

The previous owner said it was lasak wood, which is stronger than Nyatoh.
It's been dry for a month or two but the silicone still looks really good.
He refilled the tank about 5 days ago to test for leaking. It was drained on the 28th of May.
Jules and Yeobster,

Thank you for the advise.
I'll fill it up as soon as possible. Do I need to fill it up to the top, or is half filled good enough?
There are also 2 different types of silicone. But nvm, we can leave that for next time.

I'd try to fill it up as I would for normal fishkeeping. But please remember to throw in some longkang fishes or guppies inside. You won't want to get fined by the authorities if mosquitoes decide to breed there.

btw...IMO your wooden cabinet is strong enough to hold your tank...no need metal stucture..but if u put them in it would be extra. my 6footer only stand on 2" wooden frame.

Yeobster, I think I've seen your nick in other forums, MYAC? I'm also actually looking to put stand or just bricks to support my incoming FGT. I was advised not to put wood as it'll rot. But metal stands, I also worry about rust.

hahaha...MYAC?whats that? tongue.gif  i like bare stand as it easier to manage everything under your tank..haha yes wood will rot but it takes time..longer if painted. if you go for metal stand..get stainless steel one..and of course it will gulp your wallet..hehehe..im about to re-paint my stand as my tank currently under construction..replace old silicone for the whole tank and putting some bone to it as the old tank doesnt have bone..hahaha damn the shop charge me rm450 for it. i will post the reborn of my tank later...hehehe (maybe next 2 months) haha  tongue.gif
MYAC... Arowana Club? I could be wrong. Apologies then. Where are you located?

Kelahs are definitely fun to rare. They swim together, and watching them eat is so much fun. And they eat anything.

the must have kelah is what?
cant get their care sheet. whats the pond specs? food and such. and also cost
*
Must have? I feel it depends on your preference really. For the characteristics of the different colours are different as well, ie. body shape, head shape. In the market I believe the the kelah merah/ kelah bara has always been sought after. Then there's the blue kelah which Yeobster's mentioned. And also, there's also gold mahseer, which i think are from India.

About care, pretty much like what Yeobster has stated, clear clean water. Watch out for chlorine level and keep the water alkaline.

so kelah is masheer right?

so which one is the cheapest to most expensive?
kelah merah
kelah bara
kelah biru
kelah hijau

i really like them, but their price and the needed size for them to live.. still cant afford them

*
Yeap, kelah = mahseer

Cheapest to most expensive, with 1) being cheapest
1)kelah hijau
2) kelah merah
3) kelah biru
4) kelah bara

1) and 2) are basically the same, red mahseer. differentiation being the river streams they come from. so why the difference in item 1) and 2) pricing. well, i may be wrong, but most lfs won't carry the kelah bara. and the kelah merah u get from lfs, may never be like a kelah bara. again, i could be wrong.

Has anyone been to Bluegrass Aquatics? Feel like dropping by to see some stuff.

Last week i went to AI, for those who are into channa, they got a few species ie. ornatipinis, hardcourtbutleri, sp. Assam (i think). didn't see any bleheri's.
