im keeping 10 pacu.if dont have a pond i do not recommend to keep them unless u have a 10ft monster tank(even this size i doubt it) some of my 3 year old pacus are reaching 2.5ft+ n very very bulky as they are tall type of fishes.

QUOTE(PIMPIN @ Apr 8 2012, 01:29 AM) So here's an update of me feeding the fishes. To date in this growout pond I have four Gars and one Arapaima. The Arapaima is the same size with the largest Gar at about 3ft while the other Gars are in the 2ft+ range. I had the workers drop the water so that they could clean the pond the day before I went up to Janda Baik and after I left they raised the water level again. Bila free? so long nvr meet up oso....i wana c now the arapaima how big edy.Hope the red colour intense edy ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a picture of their final home which seems to be holding up fine. I'm going to give it another rainy season for the ground to really really settle before draining the water, lining the pond and turning the smaller pond into a mechanical filtration sump all natural. ![]() |

QUOTE(PIMPIN @ May 9 2012, 02:44 AM) Hahah bro not giving away ALL the tanks lah especially not the main tank. Not unless we get a 10ft to replace it. Please be forewarned the tanks have an outlet drilled on the back of them at the top left hand corner (if you're facing the tank). There are also a few stands, some old cannister filters someone could attempt to get working again if they were so inclined. Really have to go through the storeroom and clear out. We're also trying to empty out the existing stock so its easier to move things around with empty tanks and get new racks in etc. Pretty much everything is on sale - except for my corn snake that is. |

QUOTE(PIMPIN @ May 11 2012, 03:56 AM) There really isn't much livestock or any stock to be perfectly honest. The reason why we're getting rid of tanks is to allow for renovations and let's face it - the lesser the number of tanks the easier to work around. +1Plus going forward, there has to be changes as there are certain sectors of the market that are too crowded and that pushes down margins, etc. From a business standpoint, the shop needs a makeover to keep up with the times - the reality is that LFS are going bankrupt by the thousands worldwide and even locally some have decided to call it a day. Its not enough to simply sell fishes, aquariums and accessories. Definitely not with current trends in pet keeping. Currently, the first step is to make the shop more attractive, stock-up on moveable inventory and restore cash flow. The shop is recovering financially from mismanagement and misappropriation of funds. New management is needed unfortunately as I've left the problems fester for too long - my fault for placing trust in the wrong hands but no use crying over spilt milk. Anyway, only time will tell if the shop can be turned around and take the industry by storm or whether its best to call it a day because God knows I have enough companies to worry about and this is by far the one that gives me the most headache yet nothing to show for it. |

QUOTE(LuQEE @ Jun 22 2012, 05:51 PM) hehe.. saw them before in those lfs near sg. buloh nursery. really like them. but cannot keep them yet since no pond in my house. I grew couple of arapaimas b4(one of those now at bro pimpins place another one RIP sometime ago).Trust me,they eat ALOT.Wen they wer touching 1.5ft both of them can finish rm25 worth of coloured feeder fish within 30mins.and as a baby it will need as much food as it wants.Dont think there is time for them to grow n u can prepare space later...Cz they grow fast.price is ok la, but still small size. wonder how much will it eat per week? lol scared j.perhilitan would arrest me if i bought them without cert. |
