This thread hasn't gone cold. According to ggMing, my Arapaima has managed to swallow an arowana already LOL. Ask him to post some pictures. My fishes still with him since I've been slack in building new pond but I've actually expanded two of my houses for future 'monster ponds' including an existing 25'x40'x'10' which needs to be drained and rebuilt in future but that won't be for a year at least since I anticipate the filtration system, pumps, etc to cost the same as my swimming pool setup. Only upside is the labor cost but equipment cost still substantial I guess.

Anyways, I've posted some of the ponds on MFK. Don't know if linking to other forums is allowed but here goes

sometimes the LFS it self put a wrong name to them.. i think its a same fish..

HORN?...int not horn its a gills.its help the poly to breath in the low oxygen level.

its cool right? but it will disappear as its become adult  biggrin.gif

if you want to make your poly beautifull try to put black gravel.sometimes the bichir are stress that why the color become dull.

poly that available in malaysia:

Endlicheri
delhezi
ornate
senegalus (normal)
senegalus (albino)
lapredei (i think this type now hard to find, last time they come in huge quantity. now suddenly become rare.)

Anybody here owns Pantodon buchholzi - The African Freshwater Butterfly Fish? They're like miniature mottled brown asian arowana with trailing fins...

This one's NOT mine and the credit goes to the rightful owner but it clearly shows how beautiful the species is...
