You all nak sangat, Ninja Theory says hambik kau.
But at the same time, I wonder how the review community is playing this game. We're 1 week to release and having no word yet (and this being a big release for 2013) makes me privy to see how confident is Capcom in marketing this. That being said, i'm still buying this because i love how it plays. |

QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Jan 8 2013, 03:33 PM) You all nak sangat, Ninja Theory says hambik kau. I cannot expose too much, but the gist is that for publication magazines (GameInformer, EGM, PCGamer, etc) they already do have their review code since more than 2 weeks ago. But at the same time, I wonder how the review community is playing this game. We're 1 week to release and having no word yet (and this being a big release for 2013) makes me privy to see how confident is Capcom in marketing this. That being said, i'm still buying this because i love how it plays. This is because they have to print their magazines. For online reviewers, only the "bigshots" (yeah... IGN I haven't received a review code yet until today and the release is just over a week to go. What I do know is that some smaller reviewers DOES INDEED already have their review copy, how they got it... I don't know. QUOTE(deyamato @ Jan 9 2013, 02:13 PM) which region will give downfall vergil dlc ? seems like r3 only get samurai pack or something and smartphone cases hmm . R1. Review copy in hand...
Story wise, I just have these words for it: what.a.disaster As for the gameplay, I'm thankful that the AI is indeed better than in the demo. Does make things more challenging. Also, although the game stems on being stylish... the problem here is that plenty of enemies can be killed (at least on normal difficulty) with just a simple 3-hit combo + stinger, a stark contrast from the previous DMC games (yes, even DMC2). Fortunately, because the moves are so noob-friendly, it does make you want to do different combos and try different things. I guess in some ways, this is a good change for players who aren't acustomed to action games. Worth a buy? No. Worth at least a play (2nd hand or rent)? Yeah, mostly... just to see how ridiculous the story is. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Jan 13 2013, 03:17 PM |

QUOTE(denzel88 @ Jan 13 2013, 04:59 PM) 20 missions in total, it took me about 7 hours to finish the game, but that's because I'm acustomed to DMC games. Rarely died, only on some boss fights which I don't know where the next prompts are. I think it should take most people about 9 hours+ to finish the game. There are a lot of cutscenes though, even more than DMC4 I feel. QUOTE(andrewcha @ Jan 13 2013, 05:06 PM) not worth to buy? you mean like azura's wrath and orc? not worth first hand but second hand and rented? dem...... That's what I feel. I LOVE unlocking stuff and trying to always get the best scores in action games on every difficulty, but since DmC has no online then I feel that a second hand purchase is really all you want.If not, wait for a price drop. QUOTE(3ternal @ Jan 13 2013, 07:51 PM) Erm...may i ask how did you manage to get a copy of the game at hand? It's a review copy. The game is not release yet until the 15th? |

That's just ONE run-through though on normal difficulty, which IMO is inline with most action games.
You do get to go for the harder difficulties if that's your thing and if you do like the gameplay of course, so that's some replay values there. |

For any of you who desire more of a challenge, you should play all the way to Dante must Die mode. There are much more enemy waves and enemies have more health, do more damage and can activate devil trigger. Some enemies even have moves that aren't present in previous difficulties. At one point, you have to fight two dreamrunners at once and they are a pain to beat. Beating Dante must Die mode also unlocks the Super Dante costume.
SSJBen most probably played at normal difficulty, which imo, isn't exactly challenging. You have to play the game at Dante must Die mode to truly experience that 'rush'. DmC's DMD mode is by no means harder than that of DMC3 but it is comparable to that of DMC4, save for the bosses. As for the story, you have to judge it by yourself as it isn't for everybody. I personally found no problems with it but it was also nothing special but I believe it's better than past DMC games though. This post has been edited by cheesekao: Jan 14 2013, 02:37 AM |

Waiting for my salary payday then I can buy. The gameplay that I saw on the latest japanese trailer with Nothing Helps song (OORock) raise my interest a bit.

Also, I started the game on Nephilim (Hard mode), which is the highest that I can choose from the get go. My impressions are from first-run throughs. So I'm comparing it to the default Normal (which is Hard mode) back in DMC3. I have not had the time to try DMD yet or the much hyped Hell or Hell mode.
