I can pretty much say that all the reasons SSJBen mentioned are the reason why I'm avoiding this game like a void.

I recalled there was a leak for the story somewhere in 4chan, but I can't recall where it was.
And after reading that leak, I can't stop laughing at it. xD

I wouldn't really say they're actually doing a bad thing to the gameplay in this DmC.
Honestly, I would say it's actually a good thing since it would really appeal to a lot of casual players and hopefully to bring in more people into the genre of... well this kind of gameplay or some sort.
But if you try to combine both gameplay and the aesthetic view of this game... might be a little tough lol.
Since, you know. The character design is shit to begin with.

Conclusion, this game... should have been another title from the start.
It would have been a great game if they used a new set of characters, different plot altogether.

Wow dunno you guys surf 4chan /v/ too. Last time before GTAV 1st trailer was out, got this one guy who claims to be Rockstar's employee there, when the trailer came out everyone was blown away because all of his claims were correct.



But of course after 2nd trailer came out, that guy turned out to be a fraud.

Speaking of which, its just sad when Cashcom tries to make everything too casual.. What i mean by casual is not the difficulty, but the gameplay system... You just do not have to think on your next move as much as you use to... Dumbing down so many things to the point where I felt like they had just spit on a roten meat and simply throw it to gamers.. And this starts to get very annoying! So, its high time we boycot Cashcom..

If it's a dream, my first question to Dante himself is... why in the hell would you rather dream yourself as a sad drug addict dude ?
Well, jokes aside. Honestly, if Capcom/Ninja Theory puts this as a dream(like during the ending you'll be told/etc) is purely the best and honestly the stupidest idea I've ever heard in a while.

It's like they've ran out of ideas to try to ease the fans backlash, they quickly come up with something like this.
If you ask me, they'll be shooting themselves in the head if they really did do that.

There was plenty still to tell for DMC's story. Sparda's origin? Capcom was developing such a game on the PSP quite a few years ago but decided to tapao the entire thing halfway. So why not ressurect it?

What was Dante's story between DMC1 and DMC4's timeline before he met Nero?

How can anyone not watch that movie ? I'm pretty sure that question would answer your statement clearly.
And judging from your assumption with the story, I wouldn't say that's a great idea either.
It'll start to feel old and recycled because that idea of story-telling has been around for too long which means, a lot of people have been doing it already.
Unless, they managed to pull something out of their ass to make it look like its unique to their own.

But anyway, like SSJBen said they could have honestly done better with the choices of the story-telling.
Though either way, the best way to find out is to wait till the game releases and see its reviews.

I'm definitely not buying the game despite it being super discounted though, I rather just wait and watch a fast forward playthrough of the game or something.
It wouldn't surprise me if they manage to sell the game well all thanks to the damn title, not everyone would follow the news regarding this game.

your questions happens when that is a dream built solely by Dante's subconsciously self.. which I think is really kinda stupid for Dante if that is the case.. Else, if its a dream built by Mundus and he is the host, then I do not see why it will not happen... Dante's subconscious is just the main participant where the seed was planted long before he knows...

And I am not saying its a great idea.. It just makes sense base on 4chan's speculation on its ending where the "real" dante and the parallel universe Dante meet and defeat Mundus...

How is the game westernized again? Have you ever played DMC3 before?

To appeal more to the western audience for one.

Mainly, because Capcom is shifting to being a publisher-only-company instead of staying a developer/publisher. They want to be the EA/Activision of Japan.
If they are going to use internal resource, it'll only be for their long running franchises that is sure to sell - Street Fighter and Resident Evil.

Yeah, RE6 may not be the dream every RE fan wanted. But from a business point of view, it sold a lot... A LOT, considering the time frame the game was released at.
