just want to know what is the best antivirus...
right now im using kaspersky...
and the antivirus really make my laptop slow..
ang suggestions regarding to this matter..

i want to change my antivirus...
anyone can give opinions..

Bit Defender

Im kasperky and bitdefender user..
I compared both of them and bitdefender slowed my computer than kasperky.

Currently, im using kasperky and its work great.
It did not slowed down my computer so much..

maybe you should contact the support to find out what is the root cause of the problem that slow down your PC.

i prefer avast pro.

Get off the 'net, never allow people (including yourself!) to cucuk their flash drives/mem cards into your system, only install original games bought from trusted shops, use original windows OS and software...
There are plenty reasons for systems becoming sluggish. Post this in the technical problems forum. Provide your system specs too
Anti viruses do use a lot of system resources, especially during full system scans, it doesn't matter whether they're free or paid.
Try these:
- find out more about the slowdown. does it happen all the time? only during specific times e.g boot/shutdown/software updates etc.?
- know your av timetable -when does it updates, runs scans, how it handles threats etc.
Seriously man, you're paying (in this instance) for the av, take your time to set it up to your liking, contact the company to report your problems, get your money's worth!

its not the Kaspersky issue, dont simply put ure reasons .. consult before posting.. its ure notebook turned into a trashbin (sampah) already make the OS acts slow..

KIS 2011 is really bad, dont like the interface and heavy resource usage. Have been using kis for 7 years already. But it became worst lately with each version. Now change to avast. My laptop is now faster and more responsive

CPU usage eater...it auto load my processor to 100% even though im idle??
Sometime gaming it reach 100% too..

troubleshoot .. it might not be the AV issue, has some other issue in ure system

kis 2011 is more light then older version,

This problem occur when i reformat computer and install KIS 2011 until now..
Dont tell me is OS problem?

My comp with 1GB spec using Kaspersky also load very fast = = only the rainmeter takes its time ~~ Nothing worth offence but , check what you have install in your computer , some processes makes your ram packed up n use much cpu as well

Once i stopped my kis protection..it go idle SMOOTHLY

same also , u unsintall a process of course la your comp sure smooth

Top 3 antiviruses are Bitdefender , Kaspersky and Norton =) others do work as well but based on the reviews given , these top 3 is selected =) I as well recommend ESET too ^^

i has used older version kis 11 it make my system slowdown during beta tester,
so i has reinstal again using this version and kis 11.0.1.400 and my lagging problem is gone liao

i no wonder kis give a quite uncomfortable problem but no doubt very good virus detection actually. usually my case, hdd activity will congested due to frequent scan on disc activity.

funny is my kis (prev 2009 & 2010) give a slow boot up windows lol..
reinstall it back should fix it.
maybe rare case though

Its all Blardee Kaspersky problem.....
slows down your pc,
their updating lagi champion.........it takes forever.
what else can i say......kaspersky fails!!!

New version of kis 11.0.1.400 released. Go try have any improvements of not before changing...

Actually, the reason why Kaspersky will used the higher resources, this is due to it had built a "Real-Time Protection" which will scanning your PC and it causes lag for PC which is lower processors and RAM. You can try to disable real time protection, and see the performance but NOT recommended. Sincerely I can tell you that KIS is did the good job, rather than Avira, but this is my opinion. Like idiom, "biar lambat asalkan selamat," so I dare my PC to stay secure w/o worries which have a better and the greater protection.

agreed. you can see the icon at tray bar blinking...err i mean popping up and down theres kis realtime scanning the program we just opening/using.
sometimes really annoying like need urgently reopening large artwork..in the same time it scanning my files..
what can do im using since kis 6..
but truly, it save many times for my pc especially sohanad trojan virus which my other cant handle it..at that time..salute.

Sometime my kaspersky tend to consume 6% to 15% of my cpu usage. i am not sure what cause this. but i am upgrading to a latest version tonight.

But, when it come to scanning my laptop, it always consume my cpu usage till 100%.

so far, the kaspersky doesnt make my pc lag, any other problem to ur laptop?

I am not sure dude. After installing the latest version, the problem still persists. It is much better already. It does not simply have random "active" sessions.
