Actually, the reason why Kaspersky will used the higher resources, this is due to it had built a "Real-Time Protection" which will scanning your PC and it causes lag for PC which is lower processors and RAM. You can try to disable real time protection, and see the performance but NOT recommended. Sincerely I can tell you that KIS is did the good job, rather than Avira, but this is my opinion. Like idiom, "biar lambat asalkan selamat," so I dare my PC to stay secure w/o worries which have a better and the greater protection.
Sometime my kaspersky tend to consume 6% to 15% of my cpu usage. i am not sure what cause this. but i am upgrading to a latest version tonight.But, when it come to scanning my laptop, it always consume my cpu usage till 100%.
