Just got the phone through the Celcom deal = 50 (call time) + 38 (1 gig) data acces. Need to pay upfront 300 (will be deducted from bill for 1 year= -25 permonth) and phone costs 498.
I'm new to the android scene, been using Nokia and Iphone for the past couple of years. Got this handset because my Iphone finally died on me ( I'm one of the few "lucky" thousands who bought the white Iphone with battery problem).
I like the phone.
Its not fair to compare it with the Iphone, but it fits all my e- connections (exchange email, FB, twitter). The widget thing definitely beats Iphone.
Performance wise, it's quite average ( it is an entry level droid after all). Tried posting this using the LG Optimus, but gave up after a while (more on that later).
The capacitive screen works, but there are lags if you have a lot of things opened. Good thing there's a Taskkiller app to free up memory. No problems with the basic stuff, calls, emails, wifi, etc. Portable wifi teethering is a plus, again beating Iphone ( unless its jailbroken!). There's the Ndrive installed on the card. Not the best gps app ( haven't they heard about qwerty keyboards?). The input is basically alphabet layout from A to Z. It works though. There's no zooming in or out. The nokia maps in my old E71 still beats this app.
A few quirks about the phone:
so the standard Android keyboard is a normal mobile phone ( not qwerty) in potrait mode. Lg has supplied their own lg keyboard app. The problem is that the key buttons are too narrow. My fingers are relatively slim ( I'm a skinny person). Still its very hard to touch the right buttons. Maybe with a little more practice, things will get better. Landscape mode is a little bit better.
Sometimes there's a certain LGIMTS app error that shows up, needing you to kill it. Not sure what it is, but doesn't seem to affect the phone performance.
Received two sd card failure notice, had to take out and reset the card again.
Thinkfree office offers word editing. But this phone isn't built to write your company fiscal year report. Its good for small size documents and little bit of editing. Same goes for pdf, large size files will cause serious lag.
Overall, its a good deal. I'm quite happy with it, plus with the gingerbread upgrade is around the corner. Just don't expect a speedy, snappy phone with this one. I'll give it a slightly above average performance.

As mentioned by other users, the only place to buy now is at Celcom cube.
Nobody manage t spot this phone in other LG store.
rm899 but some Celcom cube force you to buy min, xpax starter (rm8.50)
before they allow you to buy it with no data plan.

I bought mine at Sunway Pyramix's Celcom cube.

For those in Penang, try the celcom blue cube at taman mahsuri near PISA, that's where I bought mine. And it seems Celcom is taking advantage of their early stock, need to register or buy a starter pack if you want to buy the phone.

Internet browsing.
The stock browser is more than enough for internet browsing. Although I do suggest getting Opera Mobile for backup. However, pinch zooming is not as smooth as Iphone 3gs. That being said, it still works, pages do load up fast. I don't think it supports flash though.....

PDF performance.
50 mb pdf files? I think that might be a little bit taxing for the phone. However, since I do not have any PDF in that size, that is something I could not confirm. I did try loading a 3+ mb file, pinch zooming isn't smooth, but still readable and functioning. Final word, do not expect it to be as smooth as Iphone 3gs, but better than E71.

Satellite lock is surprisingly fast. 15-35 seconds cold start. The map on Ndrive itself is actually very updated and comprehensive. It's just the input thing that's a little bit off.
