QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Oct 26 2010, 01:57 PM) I went Lowyat and Times Square and asked for it, they said it's not launched yet @@.. Not yet launch here...perhaps end of November. How much it would roughly be costing? Is it a replacement for D90? It's not a replacement model for D90. Estimated price with kit lens RM5000. This was what the retailer told me. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Oct 26 2010, 03:44 PM) The price is not damn expensive, it's noise control is even better than D300s, magnesium alloy body, 39 AF points etc etc and it's definitely a distance better than D90. D90 when newly launched was 4388 if not mistaken, so D7000 is just RM700 more expensive, I don't see why it's not reasonable... I was thinking to let go my D90 and start funding for D7000 This post has been edited by flame_burstz: Oct 26 2010, 04:00 PM |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Nov 2 2010, 10:49 AM) Y u choose D300s instead of the newer sensor D7000? mind to share ur findings? hahaa..... later u might poison me to get D300s also instead Well, everyone is chasing for the latest technology but the most important is to figure out what is more suitable for own shooting needs. Truthfully, I think D300s is the best I have came across that I can shoot instantaneously if I notice interesting subject and don't need to be bothered about the duration it takes to lock focus. Went to KLPF to clasp the D7000, in term of design wise almost similar to D90 except for the material and better rubber grip. D300s body is preferable This post has been edited by flame_burstz: Nov 2 2010, 11:59 AM |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Nov 2 2010, 12:01 PM) How u mean the duration it takes to lock focus? D300s focusing mechanism is better den D7000? I tot D7k got a new focussing sensor? bigger motor focus motor u mean? Sry I din do comparison btw D300s b4, lol.... When it comes to AF system and focus points, the Nikon D300s has a superior pro-level AF sensor with 51 focus points and 15 cross-type sensors while D7000 has 39 focus points and 9 cross-type sensors. In addition, D300s is fully covered while D7000 only having top and back covers made of magnesium alloy. Just my point of view. Different people may have different idea & preference This post has been edited by flame_burstz: Nov 2 2010, 02:19 PM |

QUOTE(qqmeng @ Nov 2 2010, 03:17 PM) How long you have been using it? If you don't mind me asking Added on November 2, 2010, 3:27 pm QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 2 2010, 03:23 PM) Not worth the upgrade unless you're looking for full HD and better noise control. Quite a massive amount to invest from DX to FF, unless you have huge budget. And of course better body and higher MP, higher FPS. Would suggest to take up FF instead of D7000 This post has been edited by flame_burstz: Nov 2 2010, 03:27 PM |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 2 2010, 03:57 PM) Portrait even D40/5000/3100 can shoot. Analogous outlook bro Event, I'd go for better fps. And CF card in writing speed, just in case your buffer get full up quickly. Not to forget, focusing and metering for D300s if not mistaken is the same as of D700. And D300s is actually semi pro level. D7000 isn't. It below D300s. Of course some will say the spec is better. Full HD and etc. By the end of the day, the question is will you be using all that ? If i'm you, I'd go for D300s. Personally play with it and feel it's way better than D90. I haven't touch D7000 yet. can't comment on that. Probably next week I can talk about that. |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 2 2010, 04:48 PM) Actually is my friend D300s and the wife wanted to upgrade the D90 to D7000. So guess I will be lucky to have D300s, D7000 and D90 side by side ? Whoa~ Later let us know the results aite! Comparison with embedded photos would be great.Too bad don't have same lenses to try out. 17-55 on 300s ? then D7000 and D90 with 35mm and 50mmG ? No idea. Must figure out how. |
