Not only dell replaces parts with refurbish parts.. Did you read the warranty terms? Normally every company states they have the right to replace with refurbished working parts.

Well this must be the M11x design issue..
*
It is clearly a design flaw, given the amount of user that has the similar problem, but dell just doesn't seems to give a shit lol.

PS: You can try and deny that, but do comes up with a reason lol.
Don't give me the crap that those user don't know how to take care of their laptop.

I've had hear a lot of that "Oh you have a choice don't you" from others people. So go on, cause I don't give a flying eff.

Sure would love to hear that from Dell themselves though.

Dont like it, Dont buy it.
Its free world.

You guys really need to realize that we, the customer are being ripoff.
Then again..Malaysia lol.
Most customers themselves don't exactly know what they know or, what they are doing anyway.

But..yes, I agree with you. Don't like it, don't buy it.
It's so so so so so soooooooo true, I can't deny that.

But to all M11x owner, I hope you all realize that this is clearly Dell being retarded and, do your part to complaint them.
Can't believe a faulty expensive crap are being sold and shipped despite all the complaints the customer filed.
And FFS, if you felt happy just because Dell replaces your brandnew laptop with a refurbish LCD, grats lol.

QUOTE(Safar @ Oct 29 2010, 10:54 PM)
Those who have problem can complaint and get replacement parts done, why all M11x owner need to do event they dont have that issue ?
maybe some parts changes or improvement has already been done.
i can tell most-likely none of any product are perfect, event you are not perfect.
name 1 perfect laptop that no one complaint about.
*
Lol, why are you getting fired up?
Obviously I'm directing the owners who have, or at least potentially have that problem.
And no, no improvement has been done. You can choose to be blind though.
I mean just google and read up forums. It's all there.
Then again..if you want to be a fanboy, no one is stopping you.

And when did I ever said something about being perfect?
A hinge gave up for few months of normal usage is not called "imperfect", it's called flawed, faulty, defective, whichever that you think fit.
SmartS.

Well, if one wanted to be blind, so be it.
I'm a M15x owner and I'm very happy with it.
Now I wanted to get a m11x too, for mobility sake, but given the known major issue, I'm not sure anymore.

And no, if I know the issue is right in front of my eyes, I'm not getting it.

Safar you got the point up there, but Dell isn't issuing a recall because they don't give a damn. (I seriously hope I'm wrong here)
They are just loving customer like casperito because they are easily bought by just giving them refurbished stuffs.

Individually, perhaps to you, you just have got too much time to waste. Not all of us here do.

Case scenario:-
You are doing a presentation and your m11x hinge failed you, in front of everyone. How Dell is gonna warrant that?

You are traveling to some place, say some island or oversea. The hinge failed you. How Dell can compensate that?

:/
I love Dell. But, they have got to stand and face the problem m11x is having. Please, don't tell me the perfect or not anymore, because it's obviously not, want comparison? Do you see complaint for hinge of M15/M17x as often as m11x? Face it.\

Oh and btw.
QUOTE
its juz like iphone 4... they have those signal problem thingy but still people buy them... and this is bcoz they trust the brand...

No, it's because of Fanboyism. rofl.
Believe it or not, your call.

QUOTE
so for someone to say dell know the product have known issue and not doing anything is not true.

Wrong.
Dell are made known to this issue. But they did nothing.
How do I know? I read the Dell Community forum and "Chris", one of the Dell representative in the forum told the folks that he has been bringing up that problem for every week meeting. So, what gives?

And FYI, check this out.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...ed-already.html

I don't see this on neither m15x/m17x section. Is this obvious enough?

QUOTE(casperito @ Oct 30 2010, 01:14 AM)
thank you...
which mean also they are hating customers like u who always complain and never get enuff of something...
if the hinge fail me at these scenarios, well shit happens... so, rather than ranting about it, i rather be patient and get the thing dealt with later... faced these scenarios before with other types of laptops... as i said, shit happens... juz smile...  laugh.gif

dude, if u r good enuff to complain, do go and complain to dell till they resolve the issue rather than complaining in this tread...
*
Lol you are a fanboy. I can say that straight now.

I just want a laptop with proper hinges that will not fail me every 3-6 months. Is that too much to ask for?
if you say yes, god bless you lol.

I'm obviously not good enough nor qualified to complaint, cause I have not even order the laptop yet.
I have no problem spending a fortune, for good reason, but for a laptop that fails frequently, not so wise I'd say.
And because I've been observing this issue since the day M11x was launched, I'm angry sad.gif

Everyone's gotta vent out sometimes. Forgive me.

dude... really... u got issue... go get help...
fanboy?? thank you...
everybody vent out, but they don't insult others...
*
Hmm well I don't think calling one Fanboy is an insult.
I mean if you really like one products/brand, you just can't help it can you?
I'm always called by others that I'm a Sony fanboy even though I'm not, just because most of my gadgets are sony lol. What do? Heh.
I never take these as an insult. And if you are not, sure you can deny, by all means. laugh.gif

Loving one products even though it sucks, neglecting all the negatives and obvious flaw on the most crucial and basic stuff, is my definition of Fanboyism.

im still going to disagree with you awyongcarl, for example on M15x and M17x if you notice there were some issue with the laggy touchpad.
its been going a while till dell find out and fix it, they come out with latest BIOS and tauchpad driver to solve this issue.
when i had this issue on my M15x, it was seriously bugging me.

Added on October 30, 2010, 8:32 am

20 mins by taking to them ?
*
Disagree me on what?
I sure did noticed the low pole-rate touchpad when I got my M15x.
Yeah they fixed it. Took them long enough though.

Your point?

Anyway, I think comparing a semi-defect touchpad which can be easily fixed by using a mouse, and a hinge that is going to fail easily, not too fair is it?

Yes, thank you all for the inputs. Appreciates them smile.gif
I'm sorry for all the commotion caused, I just wanted to know what folks here are thinking on this issue.

Now I rest my case.

i wonder how heavy is your arse to Google around for this simple information. you did asked that question, and you bash us back with your benchmark theory thingy? how bout you Google by yourself and do some extra reading rather been spoon-feed.

what i want is not a nice sentence to be use, unless you are se7en. or should i Google to you on "How to be Polite in Communicating 101" too?

You reap what you sow, sir wink.gif
*
Heh, indeed.
Maybe "What I wanted to see" sounds better.

What I've read around is that. Nothing more though, didn't really dig cause I'm not interested to do any upgrade, yet.
Still, if it's between 5850m and 5870m, how disappointing.

Is it really a big deal for having a custom nameplate? - -"
Sure it's cool but..Not something I'd moan for lol.

Maybe you can try calling up Dell and ask whether it can be made separately? Heh.

Nice items but none for M15x right? sad.gif
Yea. Actually it isn't that expensive. Deviltech's model the Hellmachine with the same specs is another alternative to the SAGER. And by the way it should cost the same as your Canon Camera Body only......  drool.gif
*
lol I see.
Well price maybe similar but value is different imo. A top end camera can lasts me at least 3-5 years before it's outdated, but a laptop, prolly it's gonna get outdated in a few months time lol. Though, monster grade laptop like that can be upgraded easily so.... laugh.gif

SO i can reformat using my own OS and use alienrespawn to recover back the original software in alienware ?
*
No, AlienRespawn is a software to revert your laptop back to the factory state.
If you use your own OS why do you bother installing alienrespawn?
Just download those softwares/apps/drivers yourself from Dell Support site.

If you think it's troublesome(Which in fact is easier than eating a piece of cake), then don't do it at all cause I doubt you know what yourself is actually doing.

*
No, we didn't, we understood and it is you, that didn't made yourself clear.
AlienRespawn and Alienware Command Center which control AlienFX is 2 completely different thing.

I've already said this maybe you can't read, I'll say it again, ALL the preinstalled drivers/apps can be downloaded from the Dell Support site.
And in case you don't know what's Google, here's the link for the support site.
