OVI Maps is under closed source.So it's up to Nokia development team whether to port it or not.
Although Maemo is called open source,part of the OS is still much closed source.

I think its just Google who are willing to give everyone access to their code. I think Nokia probably embrace on the same thing but only towards developers or manufacturers and not end user.

Nokia hesitate to give full Maemo source code because there are lots of Nokia's proprietary stuff in it.I don't think there is no "vanilla" version like android.
But MeeGo is different.Current N900 users can enter the tablets download area & see that there is vanilla version & there is also another version with nokia proprietary stuff.
So Nokia's MeeGo approach is pretty much like Android.

When X6 was 1st launched it was priced around RM2K(32GB CWM)
Now?The price went down faster than some stocks doh.gif
Whether people pay RM1 or RM1K they expect good product.I don't think X6 ever satisfied the pricetag.

I don't think FCam will be released to any other mobile OS.
FCam was developed to sort of prove that software can help take a better picture.Even after months of release for N900,the developers didn't mention their future plan.I think they will just maintain the maemo version.Consider this as exclusive open source gift for the best open source mobile phone.

But not to worry guys.One of the Nokia employee from Nokia World 2010 said that Symbian^3's camera functions are still being upgraded.You will see more functions in retail N8,E7 & C6.

There's already been testing in Malaysia.Nokia is not like Apple who like to keep their stuff for "exclusive" place only.
N8 will be sold in Malaysia.

E7 pretty much have same thing as N8 except the camera part.But for some physical qwerty can be godsend.

Yes.N8's camera is way better than N900's camera.However FCamera gave N900's camera much need boost.

The reason why NITDroid succeed is because the way the OS & hardware was integrated.N900 didn't exactly use the conventional method of updating OS.It relies on manual flashing to update/restore original state.NITDroid takes advantage of this full access to eMMC + MicroSD to overwrite/multiboot.
Also it seem that Nokia's GSM module is different than most of phone running Android(HTC,Samsung & Mototrola).This is why N900's port still ongoing.For now you can call & receive sms but cannot reply yet.But these problem should be solved is near time.

Easy.E7 is flagship & it cost EUR 495.The last flagship model from Nokia sold in Malaysia was around the same price also which mean E7 should cost around RM2.3K.
N8 was priced at slightly above EUR4XX.So this should cost around RM2K.

Anssi Vanjoki did say something true on Nokia World.Indeed people judge just by looking at dashboard.
Most of time when taking panorama picture phone will respond like that.It's not lagging.

It's not touch screen tv.
Just normal LCD tv.
Basically the phone will take bunch of picture of the tv to see the movement on the tv screen.
It's still just a concept though.
