U can see some time how arrogant the Nokia personel answer the question on some of those forum... they said having MeeGo doesn't mean they dumb Maemo...

what they saying is purely business point of view... they dumb it.. and still want the remaining stock to be clear out...

and... DO NOT hope Nokia will officially give new OS to any old phone although/eventhough the mechine might capable to... this is purely not commercial at all for them.. coz u need hell lot of support/time/energy to make it happen.. it also mean all $$$ to them....

it is the same when N97/97mini user asking them when they annouce Symbian^3....

Haha, many people are emotional about Nokia ditching Maemo; no need to hide or pretend, unlike some product when their product is have problem and the budak-kipas buys whatever word their "god - DarthVader" tells them.

It's a very good Tablet OS, very unique as it stands out from the typical smartphone OS, especially the Desktop concept.

Now they come up with MeeGo, which... looks like... Android... Why so many similar or look-alike OS? To end user that don't know the details/technicals, they will question, why should I go for MeeGo? Unless MeeGo becomes more popular and talk of the public, it might have better chance, but then name already loose... MeeGo? Android sounds way better...
Even Maemo sounds better than MeeGo.

N900 survives thanks to it's powerful community of users; but some pros already leave and switch to other device. Just wonder how long it will continue on, especially when MeeGo is launched... what will happen to the support when those people switch over? Unless those apps are really easily portable from one another...

The problem is Maemo files are mostly .deb and symbian are most sisx so question is whether can it be direct portable or not?
