Pardon to ask, because no one replies to me nor cares to look on my other section's thread that I recently posted.
I want to know if there's any big/small/minor/major Cs 1.6 competitions out there in Johor Bahru. I really wish to know with full respect. I and my teams has been training for years and we've never entered or joined any Cs 1.6 competitions, because we are looking for one, yet no news.
Is there's anyone out there know about any competitions, please do share it. Thank you.

Thank you so much for replying. However, the one you mentioned should be Counter Strike Source eh?
I'm currently looking for Counter Strike 1.6. Could you keep a lookout for me and update me about it?

Ehem. aSmo, mind the courtesy please. Apparently, CS 1.6 tournament is over with WCG Malaysia last two months ago. For now, not sure whether there will be more tournaments. Just look out for LYN threads as usual Or I might suggest you to visit Team LZ's website (http://www.teamlz.com) for more info

Ok, I would like to ask, if there's any Cs 1.6 competitive team out there that is recruting members to join? I would be willing to join as long as you give me some informations and details about it.
I'm currently looking for one.
@Edit - If you would, you would find my seeking-competitive-team thread on Counter Strike section.

Unless you willing to travel down to KL for competition, or else I think it's hard for you to actually get a team that are competitive in CS. CS nowadays are pretty much dead anyways.

That was a joke. Note the sacarsm man. :/ Anyways, unless you willing to travel down to KL for competition, you need to lay your interest somewhere else.

People now a days playing Sudden Attack already but well CS1.6 not as dead as CSS in Malaysia, I can see CS1.6 still got better demand than CSS in Malaysia. Why ? Because CSS is high end graphic and some of them out there can't effort to buy CPU Gaming rid. Some people say they don't like the CSS skin movement. Number 1 Game in Malaysia right now is DOTA. =O In Europe, CS1.6 still famous and still in high demand, I also had no idea why we can't be like them >.<. Sorry for my poor English.

QUOTE(commenter89 @ Sep 15 2010, 08:02 PM) Â In Europe, CS1.6 still famous and still in high demand, I also had no idea why we can't be like them >.<. Because e-sports in Malaysia is not as advance as in EU. Plus, no one are willing to volunteer to push e-sports. Almost everyone in e-sports are money minded or narrow minded. Narrow minded example A: "Wah so many pro playing, sure no chance winning. Screw this la!"All comes down to one thing; no sportsmanshipThis post has been edited by Belphegor: Sep 15 2010, 08:12 PM

"Wah so many pro playing, sure no chance winning. Screw this la!"
That point I agree, some of them very fast give up and few of them think PRO player not going through any hard path or training. Well PRO is once a noob before. >.< When comes to IT product selling such as hardware and gaming equipment , of course the target market will mainly focus on Gamers and Teenagers. Organizer out there just need to organize more and more event, see how each of event work out and do some analysis about it. I know E-Games event hard to organize and handle , I wish I can help too but I'm still learning and studying and only can give opinion and suggestion to all E-Sports Organizer out there.
Those huge Cyber Cafe such as V2 Cyber Cafe in Wangsa Maju , FTZ in Subang Jaya , or any Big Cyber Cafe out there should organize more event with Game variety, not only about CS1.6 and Dota. Someone just need to start it. I wish I have my own Cyber Cafe =(. I just voice out what I feel about our Malaysian Gaming Community, no offense to any other party out there. WE young Gamers just want to have fun and more E-Games event than anything else >.<. Competition Experience is the most important one for all Gamers aside of winning the competition. [Sorry for my bad English]

Is time management you are talking about. I'm too doing my degree but I got the time to do whatever I can for the esports. All comes down to you willingness of sacrifice something you once loved. Alot of people can do the talk, but no one actually do the walk.

To be honest, I only feel that most LAN tourneys are all about DotA nowadays. Very rarely you will fine LAN tourneys that has to do with CS and even the RTS series. Most leagues are online, but also very rare in Malaysia.

Online leagues are rare because we're not like EUs, having sense of sportsmanship. Just take COD4 for example, people are actually asking player from another team to smurf for them. I don't say which tournament fail or which had the biggest hit, but I'd rather people to take that as a guidance for them to make a proper and more successful tournaments.

Hmm, as long you full committed to do something, no matter how busy you are confirm can find time one. Such as WE certain Gamers out there taking diploma and degree but still manage to find time to attend any E-Sports Event. Some people even "sanggup" take bus from another state to another state just for the E-Sports Event , well at least can see how strong their commitment is toward the E-Games event.
From what I see lah, some people out there like "Sikap acuh tak acuh" want to organize the event or not. Like Belphegor said, "Almost everyone in E-sports are money minded", like "rasa rugi nak keluarkan duit untuk organize event, baik simpan je duit" something like that.
Means they rather keep the money they earn for THEMSELF only, they didn't do it for the community or try to improve the E-Games Event Management Quality. No offense but it is a facts that what we all Gamers witness. If it was me participate , I don't mind pay small amount of money for "registration fee" to support the event, but don't too high la >.< [sorry for my poor English]
No Gamers No E-Games Event and No one will buy IT Gaming Hardware or Professional Gaming Equipment. Just buy Computer "cukup cukup" can do Office Work. =( [ I don't think majority people here wish for that to happen] Big losses to some IT company out there you know >.<

I really think that malaysia's cybercafe or any in Johor Bahru cyber cafe SHOULD START organizing Counter Strike 1.6 LAN Tournaments already. Because each and every cybercafe I goes to, in Johor Bahru. Every poster of tournaments are ONLY about DotA. And this is like what the heck? Where is Counter Strike 1.6? They don't put it as serious as DotA? I mean, Counter strike 1.6 is still as famous as it, many players are playing it and I BELIEVE, many players are waiting for a Counter strike 1.6 LAN Tournaments that will be hosted by some cybercafe, but NOT ONLY DotA!
Cybercafe only have 1 recycling brain, that is = Which game more ppl play, i host that game only. the-whatever-attitude = Sucks.
