Ah yes, I remember that time. Ada orang kutuk aku sebab aku buat case mod on my first xbox. Dia cakap aku play "dress up" dgn xbox aku just like barbie doll. And now MS comes out with changeable face plate for the 360. I bet mamat tu has more face plates than his entire collection of stinking underwear. Now who's playing dress up  whistling.gif

Hey Guys!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but have just recently gotten back to good ol' Malaysia, after being away on a work assignment overseas for the last 5 years. Was an avid gamer back then, till work creeped in and took all the free time away... thank God for the PSP! but that's ancient history now, and am glad to see that there's a nice thriving gaming scene here back home here (again, it might sound cliche'd, but there's certainly no place like home...)

Recently re-acquired my gaming gears and would love to be part of this great community! Gotten it so that I can plan my master bedroom ID, which I'd replicate in my living room later. Anyway, this was meant to be a simple hello from this newbie to the board, and I've been babbling away... will post my current setup soon.

Thanks prazole, but it's really nothing compared to the great setup that I've seen in some of the posts here. Right now my place is in a mess, as the move back was kinda rushed and unplanned. Got my dad to help me scout and acquire the unit while I was overseas, and when I returned, I moved right in, without any renovation done... as such, my place is still in such a MESS! cry.gif You should see my living room, boxes everywhere, and no furniture yet, etc... icon_question.gif

What you're seeing right now, is the small corner of my bedroom (it's a small one-room unit, which is perfect for my current lifestyle (less maintenance!) as I travel much too frequently for my liking), which I carved out as my lil' home office. Once I'm done with my final handover of my previous assignment, and can concentrate on getting back with my life, I intend to do some major renovation to this place... Anyone who's into ID or knows any good interior designers/contractors? Would certainly appreciate it.

Ahh... I'm babbling again, and I'm sure many of you are not interested in reading about all the crap above, so let's get back to the real meat: my setup.

It's a simple Samsung plasma TV, temporarily wall-mounted to give me a sense of how I'd like things to be when I get things set up. Below the tv is the setup with I'm sure many of you would know what they are. Got all my stuff from Djinn, and like what many have said about his biz, truly professional! Thanks mate.

Thanks mate, that's really perceptive of you. That's is the 360 Elite. And leftwards as follows: the HD-DVD add-on, the original Xbox (modded for XBMC - hence the place of honour in the middle, the Wii for the "Home Minister" (though playing Metroid Prime on it was great!) and the PS3.

Sihumchai mate, I don't get the first line of your post. "Where's the big-azz back(like CRT size)? Or did you do the redneck's LCD TV?" Are you talking about a DLP-based TV with the "big-azz back" line? Sorry, I just don't seem to get what you mean... Anyway, just in case I get you wrong in any way, the model for the TV is the Samsung PS-50C91H.

Though not a Full/True HD display, the images from the TV are gorgeous, at least according to my newbie eyes. Didn't regret getting it. For those wondering about it. My significant other was playing Overlord last night for about 8 hours straight (she's addicted to the game!) and nary a sign of any burn-in. Went on a 12 hour bioshock marathon over the weekend, and no burn in too. (Didn't try the game mode yet on the TV though, as I'm kind of a big stickler on colour/display fidelity kinda guy... tweaked the display to my liking obsessively when I got it in, and got it passed the burn-in period.)

Planning to get a Panasonic next for the living room, though the Pioneer Elite is tempting, but a tad too rich for my taste...

Anyway, do hit me up with any questions you may have, and I'll try to answer it the best I can?

Thanks mate. It's a really simple setup, The PC (my main workstation, when I work from the house, which also acts as my media server, which streams all my media files to my XBMC) is on the left of the entertainment center, as u can see on the second picture. It's a tad old, and am planning to upgrade it, and converting it to a Window Home Server, once the software is released officially in Malaysia.

Rx330 mate, I concur with you, as when I was getting this unit, I was doing a lot of research on to Samsung plasmas, and didn't get much feedback. After two months solid with it, and getting it a very good price on it, I'm happy to say that I'm giving it a very healthy two thumbs up, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It has its flaws, of which, none would be a deal-breaker in me recommending this unit.

What's not in the picture though, is my PS2 which my brother has hijacked, and the three PSPs that's next to the bed. Strangely, despite all the hoopla, never been one for the Nintendo DS/DSL. Maybe it's my media consumption habits and game choices that steered me away from the DS.
