It's laggy because you have too many apps waiting idle in the background taking up precious RAM.

You can download SystemPanel Lite http://www.appbrain.com/app/nextapp.systempanel
and it will show you what apps are taking up memory(RAM) that are active and inactive.



I would clear or end task for those apps that are inactive and regain back some free RAM and my phone would instantly be responsive again.
