Your budget? IMHO, SGS has powerful CPU/GPU compare to Desire but Desire has better look. SGS kinda look like iphone

I vote for Desire, solid great phone, many ways to play with it - rooting and custom rom. I have a choice to get SGS when I get my Desire 2 months back but i go for Desire at the end and no regret. But if you can wait for a little more time - get the Desire HD which most likely will be here end of year or early next year.

I have a Desire, an my roommate has a SGS. after comparing on every aspects without root, i will still go for my desire. why? *desire has more solid case, while sgs feels more like a piece of 'plastic', sorry no offence here, but its true.. *desire sense ui wins, sgs stock ui is laggy (without lag fix, which required root)
and about the advantage of sgs, it already mentioned above.

Between these three,
SE x10 if u want a camera phone Samsung Galaxy S as a super hardware powerhouse HTC Desire for usability, UI and as a daily driver
SE x10 being a cameraphone? Hurm, dont expect too much, perhaps the camera is good but the rest perhaps might be a let down. Its all Sony's fault for not upgrading to latest android to keep it up with the rest 1ghz phones
The Samsung Galaxy S has a huge number of fans here. I hardly can tell any lack or perhaps downside of the phone unless u are saying no camera flash is a let down (to me no flash is also ok, camera flash is a bonus). If you hate the UI, go for other launchers. There are a number of 3rd party launchers available and also it came with cool widgets such as launcher pro plus. The hardware makes the Galaxy S would last longer in term of hardware comparison. I personally played with the Galaxy S everyday since my dad owns one and it is superb indeed i must say.
HTC Desire was my favorite despite of people saying that the 1Ghz Snapdragon and Adreno 200 is a big letdown of the Desire. Honestly saying, the AMOLED screen was a letdown too but im very happy with it (new Desire set comes with SLCD, just like what other super phones are using except for Galaxy S family series). The only advantage i must say is the rock solid build and HTC Sense UI. This is why ive chosen HTC Desire as a daily driver. HTC Sense UI was a polished version of stock android actually. Comparing touchwiz UI and Sense UI, in my honest opinion Sense UI is better. This issue is very subjective and individual opinion depending. Try both and what you say?
If u prefer power and a super 4inch screen and also have more budget, go for Galaxy S. If you dont have enough bucks to go for the GalaxyS, the desire is not a letdown at all. Daily usage and gaming performance is a huge different. It depends on what you do daily. Choose the phone which suits your needs

Well, desire is heavier than SGS..honestly, the actual SGS pho.e feels like a dummy set..the desire's body is much more solid and you can actually feel like your holding a powerful phone This post has been edited by shahz: Sep 11 2010, 09:04 PM

SGS screen is protected by gorilla glass And HTC phones are definitely getting firmware updates faster than the other phones except Nexus One
