the free version is good enough actually. or u can try the adw launcher as well, see which one suits you the most.

yes it will void the warranty. but u cannot remove motoblur stuff because they are interconnected to each other, it might actually break some important apps in the phone.
defy is equipped with 2gb of internal storage so there is no need to remove any motoblur stuff, and it is quite snappy as well. but without motoblur (if we can flash our phone to AP sbf) we can free more memory thus increase the responsiveness of the phone when it is running many apps in the background. so far, even without root u can do a lot of things with it. any other reason to root other than removing bloated apps? |

Phone is still under warranty, if there is a need to send for claim, we can unroot it back. If you have deleted some of the blur apps for example, you can flash it back & return it to factory settings.
Deleting system apps is not recommended, I would advise to wait for the asia pacific sbf to be available first, which comes without motoblur. |

quite expensive considering you still tied to a contract. for 24 months it should have been free.
kodak perfect touch software is just for picture enhancement, not much settings can be done, or its just that i havent explore everything in the phone yet. |

the downside is you gonna be stuck with the contract, but not stuck with the phone. you can always get a new phone and use the same plan.

Already updated google maps, but I normally use third party gps app with built in map so no need to depend on data connection.

What kind of file format that you use for the movies? I normally use mp4 and I haven't experienced any sync issue yet

Very bad & sad news indeed... My Defy earpiece has stopped working now
Turns out it is a manufacturing defect, confirmed by mobile-review.com. And most probably affects all Defy, just a matter of time for it to happen. Currently waiting an answer from Clove... |

bought from uk, unsure whether our service center will honor the warranty or not.
Added on December 21, 2010, 11:46 amjust called moto center, they will consider phones coming outside malaysia as no warranty thus service charge will be applied actually i'm thinking of fixing it myself Stratos: I thought dell accept any streak wherever it came from isn't it? service charge would be rm20. defy is already launched here so they should have the ability to fix it now.
the concern now is how to convince the technical people to replace the defective earpiece ONLY. |

QUOTE(jiangchen @ Dec 21 2010, 12:30 PM) I think if everything (service charge + parts) can fall around RM 150 - 200 it will save me some time. already tried all the suggested methods but no success. i really2 want to open this phone myself Sanosizo, Have you tried fiddling with the voice quality setting the one with the balanced, bright and extra bright ? |
