i tested the machine just now too.. the size consider to be small although not tat slim compare to other model like wildlife etc.. but the appearance look quite ok also...

motoblur is wat?? is it a theme?? cos when i play with it, din notice any affect on it or speciality of the interface.. look like nth special.. the colour of the screen look a bit pale compare to other TFT such like desire hd.. maybe need adjust setting again? it dun give a very fresh first look at the screen.. but i dun see any lagging open app or open browser.. i think worth for its price with its feature..thinking tomorrow gonna go grab one home perhaps tongue.gif

err, how many users now using defy?? maybe should create a user list?  hmm.gif
*
u r right motoblur is the GUI by motorola n just exactly like wat u said, nothing special lolz.....in fact it is buggy and laggy. u will notice the short comings of it once you tried:

AWD launcher, launcher pro and go launcher brows.gif lolz i m with go launcher tongue.gif

Welcome kysham,

My alarm working fine with a very standard ring ^^

my only problem is the folder that i rename will change back to "folder" after restart my phone.. sad.gif
*
Hi,

i have also been experiencing the folder issue, installing 3rd party apps such as folder organizer don't work as well,

The solution to this will be:

a) simi folder widget, which is free, try to search for it in the market, this one work
b) try to use a new launcher, the problem lies in motoblur interface. 3 of the most popular atm will be awd launcher, launcher pro and go launcher.

i have switched to go launcher, so far so good, very easy to use and customizable

Just wondering... Anyone with local version of Motorola Defy successful use the 3G Mobile Hotspot?

me too no problem on celcom.

Added on January 21, 2011, 11:13 pmsome recommendation:

if you like racing game try this => dead runner (running around graveyard at breakneck speed is more addictive than any racing game lolz)
if you have big fingers and would like a bigger button keyboard, try this => thumb keyboard

Welcome aboard Aishiteru^Suki! Don't forget to say farewell to fellow xt buddies tongue.gif

Added on January 22, 2011, 10:52 amFor those that modded your defy with custom froyo rom and want to set apn automatically, here's the master apn file. Just use root explorer and replace it in /system/etc folder. Then go to apn setting and press default setting. Done

Hey bro, you using Setvsel right? Does yours occasionally goes back to the default 800mhz clock after a reboot? Mine does. Sometimes it reverts back to 800mhz after reboot and sometimes it maintains my oc rclxub.gif

hi bro,

never experience your problem before, there is an updated version of setvsel out go update see how. are your setting stable? have you test with stability test?

i leave the "up threshold" setting at default which is 86% meaning it will open up or scale to the next level once 86% utilization is achieved in the current level. it will auto go back and forth depending on the current load.

if you like to make it run at a certain speed for a certain time then, there are other option such as "performance" at 1000 constantly and "limit to vsel2" at 600 constantly, which can be set and disable on the fly from the taskbar menu

check the option "limit to vsel1 while screen is off" to limit the speed to 300 everytime the screen is off.

sms, phone calls no problem? no slow startup if sms/phone call comes in?
*
mine ok, no problem, after modification of the vsel setting test with stability test for at least 1 hour on each level, if it does not crash or reboot, then can safely assume its ok....if it reboots before you terminate it, then bump up the vsel setting abit and try again, until u achieve min vsel setting and stability

those who have rooted, recommend you guys try "droid/milestone phone sleep", can get from market free. minimize usage of the power button biggrin.gif
