to filter the contact, click on the contact and choose motorola address book but first import from sim first

import from sim go to contact => menu button => settings => manage sims => import sim card

the contact will be on the phone, u export to sim lo

as for the video problem,

go download Motorola USB Driver v4.8.0 for Windows and install, then hook up your defy to pc once installed, let it run it will install all the driver. then go to:

it will show as MB525 in windows, the video is in:

MB525 => Removable storage => DCIM => camera

It is the same with malaysia set, moto logo and android

the 0 contacts in your sim might be due to the contacts being stored in your previous phone and not sim

hmm i won't see it as unfriendly, there is learning curve in new things; actually learning new things should be the fun part , if u used to it you will find it friendly

plug back ur sim to ur old phone and export the contact to sim first and then import to defy

i noticed that without installing the driver, just plug the phone to the pc thru the usb cable, you can transfer file just fine but the phone will not charge thru the usb connection, after installing the driver the phone will charge and transfer file =)

Not so good news to those who intend to root the malaysian set which comes with build number JRDNEM_U3_2.51.0

u install the driver first, then go to:

the open apps maybe due to widgets u place on your homescreen, or maybe they are autorun during startup in the background, you can disable it with Startup cleaner pro, you can get it free in the market

the default browser does not have folders function to organize bookmark if i am not mistaken. get dolphin browser HD from market it is free and have folder function for bookmark

in the moto phone portal choose photo tabs and all photos follow by manage at the bottom, it should show all the pic and video

1) why under account (settings) there is facebook but when i click on it, nothing happens

yeah it is like dat one i think its buggy, you cannot log in one unless u log out from facebook from browser or the facebook app, then it will show the log in screen but the account won't register under the "account" section

1 more thing i notice which is buggy, is if you create folder on your homescreen to organize those icon, the name will revert back to default "folder" once you reboot your machine. better use "folder organizer" apps to organize


2) how to sync google contact with fb contact? last time my nexus one with android 2.1 easily sync google contact with fb contact if they are using the same name

this one i yet to explore


3) what is motoBlur neway? i cant see anything special.. i thought motoBlur needs to sign in first when we set up the phone for first time? mine just standard android set up together with swype tutorial.

motoblur is the skin, the interface or GUI by motorola. if you have malaysia set you have motoblur without the need for motoblur account.

Thanks for the confirmation, just updated my google mobile maps to V5 =)

It is not available in the market and only comes preinstalled in selected android handset. i upgrade by downloading a 5.4mb apk file, looks better, load faster =P

for sending in warranty purpose; if after rooted, do we need to unroot? to do this we need to flash the sbf file? is it out yet the official stock firmware for malaysia version?

just hate the default crippled quickoffice that comes with defy i installed other office appz oredi and was thinking about tidying up and uninstall it as it is redundant

hmm malaysia set dun work with z4root and my concern is if later needs to claim warranty need to unroot which will be a problem without the original firmware to flash. anyone knows whether the ori firmware for malaysia set is out or not?
