Guys, I have a problem with Unifi and the wireless router they provided.

After 30 mins of surfing, I would suddenly lose connection to the wireless router.
Actually, I'm still connected (both the unifi "modem" and the wireless router) but I can't surf on the internet anymore.
What I usually do is then to switch to another wireless network and switch back to Unifi.

This is very annoying because it means I can't download stuffs which will take more than 30mins for the full download (huge files).
And then I have to start all over again.
Looks like my old Streamyx more reliable.

Anyone from Unifi care to help or any suggestions from LYN members here?

Btw, I'm using a MacBook.

Happens to me too, infact, I have had to replace the router once and I'm getting another
one tomorrow (3rd router since installation earlier this month). The router life span is really short.
Since I have registered to Unifi, I have only been able to use it for a few days.

E.g. 1 day all fine, 3 days router problem and to get replacement, 2 days fine, 4 days down again and still no call from technician to
set appointment date.

My opinion is they should have waited until they are fully ready and prepared in terms of services and equipments.
I don't mind paying the rather expensive fees if they can maintain good services, but now I'm having 2nd thought.

If my 3rd router dies again after a few days, I'm going to get them to waive my first month's fee.
This is just bull****

thats why better get custom routers and setup..

Or if you dont want IPTV just change DIR-615 firmware to DD-WRT..it should work flawlessly  thumbup.gif

I don't care too much about the IPTV. To be honest, only thing I liked about it is the all night long catwalk in HD but other than that
it's really just crappy shows.

I'm looking at the DD-WRT guide for DIR-615 at the moment and am considering of doing it, but a few questions
if you guys don't mind answering;

1. Should anything happen, is there any way I can restore the original firmware (I noticed that the guide also includes download link for it)?
2. Will this seriously help with the router's life span? I was under the assumption that its the hardware (the router device) itself that is not stable, I didn't know that it was just the firmware.
3. Just how many of you guys did it?

Thanks in advance

Ok 2nd day since I installed DD-WRT. Everything is a-ok, but still a little bit too early to tell.
Anywho;

At least I know I'm not the only one. Let's hope they'll fix this soon.
(by the way, my unifi is 20 mbps)

and hey, I'm downloading at 80-100 kbps. This is P1 wimax's speed on a good day (which is very rare) laugh.gif

My speed seems affected as well..hoping this is a temporary thing.

Sucky ISP and internet connection really drives me mad. It's exactly the kind of thing
that makes me want to bite someone's ear off or kill little kittens or or.. you get my point.
