Haven't really been following UniFi updates for a while but few days back, saw them deploying the cables right in front of my house so I guess it is just a matter of months left before it is officially available at my area.

Now, what I would need to seek clarification for are:
1) Home users can also apply for BIZ package right?
2) They offer some free web hosting thing with domain for BIZ, I don't have any in mind. How?
3) I need a fax. Will my existing fax (currently using copper) be able to work with UniFi?

You must use their BTU (as far as i know there is no alternative products that can handle the fiber optics or VDSL in Malaysia).
For the router/wifi, you better find alternative products as the DLINK TM give is not that good.
I am going to get a RB750G from Solitron in Singapore. Anyone want to tumpang order to share the delivery cost?
Order only open to those people that can come to 1U to pickup.
here is the price list

1) Yes my friend already using it biz5

2) Yes free webhost n domain for biz . U have to choose one

3) Fax should work as long they are phone lines ( Not sure )
*
Bro, can you help me check with your friend if the web hosting is a cPanel hosting?

Also, yea I know about that for the fax but was thinking will it still work if I terminate the copper line. Last time when I read this UniFi topic, some said that it doesn't work. Not sure if there are any solutions to get a fax working with UniFi (aka fibre optics). hmm.gif

RB250GS is a managed switch
RB750G is a router + managed switch + firewall and more...

RB250GS = USD39.95
RB750G = USD69.95

RB750G is more expensive than RB250GS.
*
Oops, sorry mistaken. I mean the difference between RB250GS and RB750, both are the same price. hmm.gif

Don't worry, fax works on UniFi fibre optic line. I have a fax machine too and it works perfectly alright.

So I can terminate my copper line right if that's the case?

I wonder how long more before my area is under UniFi coverage. They have been sort of like cutting the roads in front of houses to deploy something I suppose? This had been going for a few days already. No sign of the small little box at the telephone poles behind my house though. sad.gif

I guess even when my MikroTik RB250GS arrives, I still won't be able to subscribe to UniFi yet. sweat.gif

Update for those who order Microtik RB750G and RB250S, the items has been shipped and are on the way to Malaysia.
*
Hopefully UniFi will be available at my area soon too, then will be perfect. Otherwise, my RB250GS will be left aside until UniFi is available. sweat.gif

Nope, any prefix below 110.159.128 were Streamyx IPs.
Unifi IPs were under 110.159.128.0/18 range or 110.159.128-.191
*
Currently I'm on 110.159.18.x. hmm.gif

Anyone able to confirm if current Streamyx 1mbps plan is still under contract, is changing over to UniFi possible? Do they count this as an upgrade?
