Hi all,
Just got my VIP5 installed 2 days ago in Mutiara Damansara. Very satisfied with the speed, getting 300-400Mb download from BiTT. So far so good as I've runned in the hardware for 12 hrs and then switched off, now will run the unit 24/7!
Yes the D615 runs slightly hot and will need ventilaton. Only snag is the D615 wireless signal is rather poor, when relayed to my PC downstairs 35-48% strength only, but no problem upstairs (using Dlink 125 doongle). Yes, resiting the D615 will improve signal but can the signal be improved by installing a better antenna? Also thinking of getting the mikrotik router but when is the next bulk buy?
Thanks to all as I'm a noob in using Unifi though have been a streamyx user previously.
Cheers
Yes the D615 signal is poor but i am using the Aztech Homeplug with wireless extender at the opposite end of my apartment and managed to boost the signal to max bars on my netbook (previously 2-3 bar only).
Using the Homeplug for 2 days so far so good. But my UNIFI connection however on Monday & yesterday was down for a few hours.
Called the cs & was rectified after around 5 hours.
