GT 420M... expect around GT 320M???

With DirectX 11 support should be ok? Comparable to HD5650? the 4741G looks affordable.

A42Jv, 450M + GT 335M (aka HD5650 lvl), lowest price rm2399... besides Asus has 2yrs int'l warranty...

moreover, TimelineX 4820TG with 460M and HD5650, so far rumoured to be rm2599 as well...

Right also, that case I better save up and wait a bit longer, reason I didn't pick Asus is their Service Centre abit far from my place, not sure sellers willing to RMA for me or not.

Nope, Penang here is different place, Asus is in e-gate called Asus royal Club, Acer is in Georgetown.

I know in most places Highpoint Services is responsible to service Acer and Asus..

Asus A42Jv has better Graphics than these 2.. DX11 is not really needed imo and you can experience it without lags on Desktop 5850 at least..

That is old info, Asus just opened their Service Centre at e-gate, that one is for Acer, Epson and other appliances, alot things they repair, thats's why people say serice not so god, too much multitasking

Ok basically the new 4741G is just like the old 4741G in design, but now the lid is black colour instead of silver.
I ran 3DMark06 on this and the result is better than I expected.

just the left side only will become hot ... i got another keyboard , so will not feel uncomfortable ... i like asus quality , doesnt hav the problem like failure usb n faulty card reader ... lol ... acer not for me ... xD

melaka, i'm not buy from acer shop..
i buy from pc shop.. then the pc shop do not keep the new stock yet..
so they nid order from acer if customer wan the notebook..
(wed they order, thursday nb reach shop, then add ram, test ram whether compatible or not, burn recovery disc, so friday me can collect it)

It looks like old 4741G which already is good looking, the palm rest very nice, like metallic design. Can you ask the shop is it true GT420M machine comes with nVidia Optimus?

GT420M sports 96sp, GT425M just a higher clocked GT420M. According to notebookcheck review, GT420M just match GT330M in performance, outperformed by GT335M&5650 5%~10% in actual gaming benchmark.
