that is not accurate, i've watched many replays, and noticed why my APM so low(50-60) while some players so high(100+), its not accurate to use that as judgement, cause those players who get 100+ they simply just click so many times, ie, i order my troops from my base to outside of enemy base, i issued only 1 command, and some players seriously click so many times, from his base entrance, right click every single step from his base to the enemy base. the APM is high, but its POINTLESS wasting your time in making serious judgement, spending too much time in action that give you no benefits at all, so APM isnt mean anything unless every action you do is meaningful.

APM doesn't justify everything. Lots of ppl spam click to increase their APM or so they say " warming up ". But i've seen quite alot of replays that the lower APM guy actually beats the higher 1. It might be a different case with korean pros though.
But if you can manage your timing and builds well, APM isn't such a big thing to fuss abt. But still, higher APM makes u look cool |

I agreed that APM is not everything. Thus, I asked how fast your fingers can go. I didn't mention about APM = skills. Anyhow, APM is not everything but it is something that you need especially multitasking.
I end the game with around 70-100+ apm depending on my opponents and the situation with the game. If I harass a lot or being harassed a lot, then APM will be high. However, if you mainly just do macro without much micro, then I bet you won't get any higher APM. Try to divert your attacks, go in multiple places, do different stuff in your main, natural while attacking or defending. I'm sure your APM will not be like 1-50 or so. Practise more and you should have around constant 100 if you are able to multitask better. |

I think the best scale is to make people do a series of actions that involved mouse and keyboard. we follow the same events and sequence for everyone and then we measure how long it take for people to finish this task. gaming are not just how fast we click. it depends how fast we think under pressure and our coordination.

oooh thanks!
i just finish watching my latest replay. i think my average APM is 70. let me watch another one. that round lasted 22 minutes. cannon rush turned into zerg containment match. i watched another one. against terran. cannon rush success gua since he lift up his base and cabut. 7 minutes 47 seconds 61 average APM. 300+ APM really spam for me...
I think around 200 or so should be enough for pro gaming... For myself, i onyl doing around 30 apm lolzzz! I think its sufficient, for my level, my friends were doing 100 plus minus but still i was able to beat him 1 on 1... APM is not everything |

APM not so important , pls dont stress too much on apm. Strategy more important o,o , how ever it is VERY important at PRO level . Especially if u play SC BW in ICCUP then u noe , u need apm more then 100 to even survive thru low level D ranks . Anyhow i know many msians dont play Brood War cuz they say graphics sux , even my frens say so. But one thing they duno tat sc BW is so hard and meantime exciting play too.

If u guys played wc, u may know this pro elf nicked APM70. He always maintain his apm at around 70 and yet he was among the best player in the world back then.
So AMP doesn't really matter... just click whenever it is necessary. |

a lot of the apm meter also inflated one lar. i look at replays on youtube and stuff, you get players spam right clicking a simple move order. like instead of right clicking or a-moving once to a location, they'll just spam right click like no tomorrow as if doing that will make the troops march faster.
i mean, apm will definitely spike when in battles like when you're spamming micro or putting down force fields or focus firing and sh*t, but in between battles also 200 apm meh? |
