Sorry noob question. For the A-GPS, you need to turn on the data for it to function, right?
This means even when I am using an offline GPS like Papago X5, I have to enable "use wireless network" and turn on the data? Won't this be as costly as using an on-line GPS if we have to switch on the data? Appreciate your input. Thanks.
It is up to u....This means even when I am using an offline GPS like Papago X5, I have to enable "use wireless network" and turn on the data? Won't this be as costly as using an on-line GPS if we have to switch on the data? Appreciate your input. Thanks.
Like i said earlier in my postings, if u want a fast n dirty location of where u r without waiting for the hp to lock on to the sats, then YES, u hv to enable "use wireless network"! And to use wireless network u hv to either turn on the data or use wifi!
When using offline navigation software with enable "use wireless network", very little data is moved, ie. only the cell tower long n lad data are received.
When using online navigation software with enable "use wireless network", a lot of data is moved, ie. the cell tower long n lad data are received AND the maps n routing information.
