your right, out of the box iphone wins, i think samsung galaxy s still come with stock firmware out of the box, they really should upgrade it to DXJG4.
but the open source make it more genius people than sammy it self to help fix problems,
btw when you say it detect at shah alam, what maps/apps you use? google maps and papago never fail on me. but some weather apps, and compass really didnt detect me correctly
kinda old news
but still didnt see it though here in malaysia
I do agree the GPS on the Samsung Galaxy is poor. Sometimes it works beautifully without problems. However The satellite lockup is still slow compared to my HD2 and Nexus ( which is within few seconds). I was driving to KL one day and after I pass Sg Besi toll, I got a shock , the weather widget ( Beautiful Widgets ) shows I was in ROME !!! Geez, what a shock, after a few kilometres I see Kuala Lumpur registered on screenbut the open source make it more genius people than sammy it self to help fix problems,

And YES, if you want to use the Galaxy S better installed OCLF or Voodoo Lagfix - it boost its performance up very much
