KOAY TEOW TH'NG
Hutton Lane off Transfer Road

*
Do you mean the one on Lebuh Clarke, run by a 30's man and his wife (took over from the dad)?
I love that stall.

The western food opposite the graveyard? Roughly which part of Penang is that? Jln Mount Erskine?
The one in Jln Mount Erskine is very budget one and caters to students in the nearby TAR college.
*
That place is not good at all la. Its the same taste as any other western food.

very seldom i will compliment malay cooked food that follows chinese style, but this AYU MEE UDANG is something special.... rclxms.gif

Located in Teluk Kumbar, I came across this isolated location when participated in Penang Food Hunt 3 years back (I am from KL).  icon_rolleyes.gif

Address: 936B, Lengkok Kg. Masjid Satu, Teluk Kumbar
Mobile: 019 472 4495 (Noordin)  icon_question.gif
Business hours: 1pm to 11pm

But be prepared to spend > RM10 a plate/bowl (coz their prawns are huge and freshly brought in from nearby Fishing Village!!

Do try the Mee Udang Goreng instead of the conventional Soup.... ITS DELICIOUS!!  thumbup.gif

very quiet place (unlike overcrowded chinese shop/stalls)

This is definitely worht a try. But I have to say I was tehre like 5 years ago, I seldom ever go that side of the island
But I seem to remember there is another one Mak Ngah or something also very popular in that area.

I like New World Park.
Airy, not too crowded, and fairly decent food + easy parking.

Sometimes on a hot lunch day its not worth to go crowding places...
