im curious what hardware you would get from this package? from http://www.maxis.com.my/home/plans_fibre_10mb.aspi see a dect and a modem are these 2 the only hardware? is the "white" box the thompson modem you guys keep mentioning? pc is direct connected to it via lan cable or wifi or need separate router? Added on May 23, 2012, 9:07 amseem the modem is thomson TG784n http://www.maxis.com.my/home/pdf/fiber%20i...Mbpspackage.pdfso maxis will not let user access to the modem admin is that true? what if i want to off the modem wifi can it be done? as im allergy to close range wifi signal which will cause headache whenever i on my dlink wifi This post has been edited by aerobowl: May 23 2012, 09:07 AM

QUOTE(Saros @ May 22 2012, 04:03 PM) If you physically power off your router, and turn off the wall plug switch, it will not magically power on. That much I'm sure Wether Maxis will send a technician to complain and force you to plug it in, I cannot answer. Please do join in the forum thread I posted above your post and pose these penetrating questions to them. However, if you leave it plugged in but turn it of... I don't know if it's possible to force it to wake up. For normal PCs however, I used to work on a computer that could do that if my admin forced it to wake up, back in uni. As long as it was plugged into the wall and the switch was on (but PC is off). Was pretty creepy to see it suddenly spin up to life. i guess you guys think too much as Maxis wont dare to ask or force people to on something for its own sake first the device need power and we need pay TENAGA for the electric bill second the device generate heat and we need to on fan or aircon to cool down our house temperature third the device will emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) which maybe harmful and disrupt human brain

kinda weird in the sense that you get 200minutes free IDD calls to Singapore, Indonesia, China, Thailand, India, Australia, UK, Taiwan, Vietnam and Japan
but you are charged every second/minute for local non maxis calls

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Jun 21 2012, 05:30 AM) hi, Yes mine is the 784n: Product Name: TG784n Software Release: 8.4.H.8 I must be one of those first batch subscribers who installed M's FTTH when they first launched it back in near end of 2010. To be honest, I had have wifi problem when I realised more n more neighbours did the installation... As I suspected the channel conflicts, changing the wifi channel to one that hasn't been allocated helped eradicate the disconnection issue.. And I have no issue until now. The only issue that I have with this 784n is that it doesn't save my devices' configuration in the 784n, and this is due to Mshits keep on pushing a 'refresh' back to the router I believe.. cheers p.s : that was wifi connection problem that I have had.. It has never overheated, not as bad as you mentioned...every equipment will generate heat, and somehow 784n last 18 mths of almost running 24*7 inside my open-cabinet.. so cheer up! electronic devices are either passed stress test and can last many years or will fail in just few days and burnt in some months so for new users they may want to turn on 24/7 for some days
